  • Remember every cell in your body needs glucose to live... Sugar is not bad, you gained weight because of all the FAT.

    Eat fat, gain fat.

Reduce your fat intake below 10% increase you carb intake above 80%... sounds crazy? Its not though, when you SEARCH for low fat carbs you automatically HAVE to exclude donuts, ice cream, sugar cereal.

Of course refined sugar is a stupid choice, all calories, no nutrient. :)

And how did you know that it was 3 lbs of FAT that you gained?? What about Water?

  • hey do u ever wish that u had bypass instead of gastric sleeve, because of more restriction with the bypass in saying that u can still gain weight with the bypass suppose u get back what you put in what is your daily calorie intake do you stay within a specific range xxx

  • Hi Kelly... in your videos..and in most other ones I have seen... no one mentions throwing up if they eat too much..and I thought that was one of the things to worry about...any thoughts? you can email me at sharonlia@aol.com

  • The anxiety over jeans not fitting I can totally relate to. I even have nightmares that suddenly I am too big for all of my clothing.

  • Your absolutely right..sugar is a drug & food/carbs can be addicting!! Well said!!

  • your hair looks AMAZING!!!!!

  • Very much identified with what you said about your body never being what it could have been, and having sad moments where you realize all the exersize and healthy eating wont get rid of it...Good for you getting rid of those clothes that draw attemntion to your skin...I should do that also...

  • Love your makeup :) I have been going through Candida treatments,/sugar detox with my Holistic Dr...Sugar is a drug! No joke! And yes, fast food is a drug as well. Once you dip in to it again, it's hard to not jump on the train plowing ahead again. Love your updates, keep in touch. I very much do appreciate your messages to me. Life has been emotional for me, and I hope I responded to you. :)

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WITH THE SLEVE AND BYPASS

  • Really admire u for putting these videos up. I was 255 lb in Nov'09. I went on a serious diet + 1 hour of daily gymming & lost 66 lb by Aug'10. I stopped being strict with the regimen & by June'11 I have nearly put back on all the weight I lost. I weigh around 227 now (I'm too scared to check the weighing scale). Considering I had success with a natural weight loss method, should I go in for the surgery? In your videos u havent mentioned if you exercised after surgery. + the cost. Thanks :)

  • I have some personal questions that I'd like to ask you from earlier in your journey with WLS. Would you mind emailing me when you get a chance. I'm having some problems & your videos have been so helpful. Blyeargain@yahoo.com

    Thanks for your time.

  • thats exactly what it is. the fear of gaining it back. i get that too!!

  • Your thoughts in sugar and racing thoughts is interesting. I'm wondering how long it took you to detox from sugar to feel a calmer physical state?

  • Gotta say you still look awesome. You should feel awesome.

I dropped by to say hello and after 34 weeks, I'm down 91.4 and my weight is officially 299.6. Goodbye 300s, I ain't going to miss you.

Quick question, my Vitamin D has been way low (minimum) after the first blood work and after last Friday's it's still low and the VA is sending me those 50,000 ones to take once a week again. Did you ever have issues with Vitamin D? All other numbers my surgeon said were perfect in the middle. thx

  • Hey! I'm shrinking sizes too...i was sleeved 1/31/11...i may be interested if you're looking to get rid of stuff depending on what it is. BTW, i get that worry that stuff isnt going to fit too, and i also have the want to buy new stuff too. Glad its garage sale season, hoping to find nice and inexpensive replacements. I totally get where youre coming from, i've weeded out most of my older/larger clothes too..(ok, now i'm rambling) :)

  • Thanks for another great video. I could relate to everything you said and it came at the perfect time, just as I was facing a weekend of baking for the community. As much as I love baking I was dreadiing it as I usually gain around 3 pounds through licking and tasting but this time I was more mindful (because of your video) and I also used the trick of chewing gum (sugar-free) and mouth wash. It stopped me most times and guess what? I lost 2 pounds!!! Thanks again your videos do help.

  • This is an excellent video. I know myself I am a perfectionist. And if the scale doesn't say what I think it should say I tend to beat myself up for it. You are right, however, It's better to get on track now instead of waiting till later. (after a holiday, etc.) Having my gastric bypass 3 months ago now and I haven't lost the weight that I think I should. However, the doctor has told me that I was doing well. I have had other health issues to contend with which is interferring with my journey.

  • @annmo0869 Have to change that. I weigh every Friday and do measurements as soon as I get up. The past week, every measurement went up 1/4 inch, but my weight went down 2.5. There's no logic behind it, so that's why I do both. When one doesn't move the other seems to. Most guys lose over 100-125 easy after 34 weeks, but mine is 91.4. Am I disappointed? Heck no. The way I see it, if it takes a little longer, it increases my chances of not having extra skin later. Hang in there.

  • Hi! I have set back tonight and watched almost all your vids! I think you have done wonderful, look great and I applaud you. I am super obese and know exactly where you have been. I am currently in waiting for WLS. Your vids really help people like me with what to expect, emotional AND physical advice/information. I hope you have continued success with your body and I am very appreciative of your vids!

  • I can totally relate to your entire video!!! Thanks for sharing, it really helped me to hear that others have the same thoughts and issues as me. You look great.

  • kellawanda... how tall are you... im trying to gage what i would look like at 151, i'm 5-8, and... sugar is a drug, drug, drug.... more people like us need to recognize this, it can undermine the sleeve...i think my sleeve is helping me to deal with a "former" sugar addiction.... I have lost 106 lbs, and i have about 20-35 more to gooooo...love your videos...

  • Hi! I am having the sleeve surgery next Friday the 3rd. Honestly I am scared to death. Thank you for being so honest in your videos. You ahve really helped me to plan and feel more comfortable with what I am going to have to do. I am addicted to food and I know it. I have started my battle with it and you have really helped me.

  • you look great

  • What clothing do you have? I'm 7 months out from gastric bypass. Start in a 20 pant side, now im between 10-12. Can you send me somre?

  • hi,i have a qustion here,so what u mean is that i canot have and bad sugar like from cakes or choclates or soda right?so the only source of sugar should be the healthy way like fruites or fresh juice

  • Wow ur videos are qood...i just had my sleeve done on the 24th ive lost 32lbs on pre ops for my surgury i was very excited.....so can u plz tell me aqain what u ate after ur surqury??

  • Hey Kell! I have been watching your vids for awhile now, I got sleeved 2/22/11. since then i have lost 40 lbs. I can still only eat a few bites of anything, does your capacity change over time? I can barely eat meat at all unless its in a soup. I still primarily eat soups, these seem to stay down better. I still throw up frequently unless i am very careful about what and how i eat. I am still re-learnng to eat without "wolfing". Thank you for all the inspiration you have given me!!

  • HAHA! I've been making cakepops for a while. As soon as you're done, throw the spoon or bowl, or whatever, IN THE SINK. I catch myself nibbling on little pieces of cake, crumbs. But I'm usually making them for a event so I don't want any germs anywhere so I'm super careful about not licking any utensil. You're still looking good and keeping things in check. You have your whole life ahead of you, it's not all going to be perfect. Glad you have your head together though. Wow! What a journey

  • SuGaR is evil!

  • thanks for the vid because i relapsed and gained 13 lbs los 6 lbs since yesterday. Thank you because i like your vids they keep me going ( your vids)

  • nice to see you...you look beautiful. thanks for the honnesty i really appreciate it. great info. :)

  • You are still doing great! Have you ever dump on sugar? Take care~Angie

  • @mypombella: Not with the sleeve...thats general a bypass thing.

  • @Kellawanda I am sorry I thought you had the bypass! It has been a while since I watch your journey!

  • I feel the same way about putting clothes on... I am always scared that some how I am going to ballon over nigh and be back to what I was! I know that its silly but I feel like that some times! And the other thing is.... If I feel like I didnt make the best food choice even if I stayed with in my weight watchers points I feel the need to purge with Exercise... So I will go exercise a 3 or even 4th time Kinda like a healthy bulimic!

  • I think being mindful of it, as well as the fact that you are still making vids is what is keeping you successful. I plan to not just dissappear from youtube or my blog or OH once I hit maintenance :). You are inspiring and I love that you still check in with us on here.

  • thank you for making this video i just gain 8 lbs on vacation got home and on the scale and almost past out lost 5 and have about 5 more to go i give myself 5 lbs between 170 to 175 im now 175 so i have to watch what i eat as you say eat clean so thanks on my way to the health club

  • LOLOLOL Love the sound effects!!! I too am a victim of the dreaded Carb Monster!!!! So I will have to stay on it the first 6mo or so. Your doing great and I love your videos they are so helpful and help keep it very realistic. Keep up the great job!!

  • Thank you for a great and totally honest video account of one of our major challenges on our journey. I think you nailed the issue of sugar perfectly and your strategy for moving forward seems so solid. I love how you hold yourself accountable--so honest and it can happen to all of us. Best of luck to you on your continued success and thanks again!

  • SURGERY DATE is 5/31 i am in a 22 now so i would love anything smaller-- so broke ...

  • SURGERY DATE is 5/31

  • Hi. So glad you made this vid. I am a binge eater I confess!! Thank you for the planner you sent. I have truly come to realize I cannot keep any type of junkfood in the house for others as it screams my name and I compulsively eat it. BED but without the purge, it's made worse by certain meds I take. I am at that stage where its feeling hopeless as I look at myself to see, like you said, what I have done to myself.... a vicious cycle I must overcome. Glad you posted this video.

  • I too feel bad about my excess skin, but I try to tell myself that the excess skin is a "battle scar" -- that I am fighting the obesity monster and I'm winning and the skin is the sign I'm winning :) -- I have issues with sugar as well -- surprisingly, I've found that I'm not nearly as depressed, anxious, angry or bitter now that I'm not eating sugar -- and like alcoholics (wine, beer, alcohol are all made from sugars), I think a lot of us were physically addicted to refined sugars -- good vid

  • This was a really good video! and BTW- your hair looks great!!!!

  • actually u shouldn't wait a month 2make videos. We all hang on waiting to see what the you tubers have been upto. It's good you're so honest, with yourself as well as with us. The main thing is u are able 2analyze it all & work out where u went wrong. Is there ever going to be a time that any of us will stop having the 'fat girl' inside us?. This is why it was an EXCELLENT idea 2throw away the past, & all the clothes that made you feel bad. Well done 2u!. Don't sweat it, you're still gorgeous!.x

  • Hi,
