  • Ringo Starr & George Harrison must have been on the same musical wavelength. When the Beatles all went solo, George and Ringo really made a big use of having a horn section in their respective bands.

  • It never ceases to amaze me... how AMAZING the BEATLES TRULY ARE! -kk

  • Yeah, right on altazboy. The man's an icon. I just today saw a Beatles-hating blog by "two teenage girls". It made me unhappy enough that I've been listening to the Beatles all day now.

I feel sorry for those kids. As for Ringo: he's had a life of extreme success, but he didn't get to listen to the Beatles from day one like I have. Mr. Starr, thanks a million!

  • Suerpb song by George and Ringo.

  • Ringo, God bless you always - have a great life (in continuation !).. enjoy your lovely wife and be well - thanks for the music, the fun times you gave us, Ken

  • Stephen Stills on piano here.

  • kinda round the same song by Eric Clapton let it rain which was also help written by George Harrison; bless john & George rip.

  • george wrote it

  • Best Beatle Tune Ever!!

  • @thatretrogirlsblog , This was not a Beatle song, but a solo effort by Ringo Starr

  • @only12c

More like a solo by George Harrison given to Ringo Starr.

  • @nafaidni , I was replying to thatretrogirlsblog on her statement about this song being a beatles song.....It is not a Beatles song,.... I do not care where it came from

  • @thatretrogirlsblog This isn't a Beatles tune...however it is written by two former Beatles, sung by Ringo.

  • @thatretrogirlsblog No that was Walking On Thin Ice - Yoko

  • Best song ever if you live on earth and want to live in peace this song is it.

  • One of my many favorites Cuzz nothings easy.

  • One of my many favorites Cuzz nothing somes easy.

  • terrible copy and y'all quibble.

  • wait.... ringo can play guitar ?

  • ...ahem, "the strongest vocalist" in the band? Do your parents know you listen to the Beatles? NO, he wasn't the "strongest vocalist" in the group; that's between John and Paul and, to a lesser extent George. However, Ringo had/has the kind of voice that fits quite well with the right piece; having the production genius of George Martin behind it all just makes it a pretty sure thing--I like this as well as the George Harrison demo version, regardless of the writing credits...

  • @Papaboogers Agreed. And I love Ringo, but even he would never claim to be anywhere close to the strongest vocalist in the Beatles. Ringo did, however, have a unique and charming vocal style that did endear him to many. His obligatory one lead vocal per Beatle LP served as a vehicle for varying musical styles (country: Act Naturally, What Goes On, Don't Pass Me By; rocking: I Wanna Be Your Man; children's: Yellow Submarine, Octopus' Garden). George produced this fine song; he cowrote it too (?)

  • How embarrassing. Let your drummer out of his cage & the world finds he's the strongest vocalist in the band. Paul missed this entirely; still arguing if its Lennon-McCartney or McCARTNEY-Lennon? lol (Paul you Still dont get it ... Big Talent. Yes, we always knew that... its just the Whole World is saying "Back off Boogaloo" by now. Great guitar by Harrison. AKA "Hendrix, oh and George" (Pauls lineup for the ultimate heavenly band. lol T/y Paul but score 2 points for Ringo & George here). ;)

  • George Harrison probably wrote the entire song himself, not "co-wrote". And that's Harrison on the guitar solo as well as the opening riff. That riff is similar to one that is in the song "Badge" by Cream (Clapton).

  • @socalruss that's my belief as well. FIrst of all, it sounds like a Harrisong. Likely it was written on guitar, by George (his signature guitar plastered throughout), who then took it to Ringo as a vehicle for his solo work. About a year and a half earlier, we saw George "helping" Ringo write Octopus' Garden during the LIB fiasco. Ringo had sole songwriting credit on that too. Perhaps Ringo added a few lyrics (ala Badge, another GH song), but this is a George Harrison song & I prefer his take.

  • sounds as it should be

  • U gotta pay your dues if u wanna sing the blues !!!!!

  • Guitars by George Harrison who also co-wrote the song and produced the recording.

  • Sounds like clapton on lead. anyone? Bueller?

  • Did Badfinger play the guitars on this?

  • Sounds like it was recorded down the hall from the speaker, not directly

  • Cheers. I'm finishing my beer and starting another. Been drinking all night now it's almost 5 am. God I can't wait to go back to work.. (so I can go back to smoking pot over drinking booze..)

  • @TertiusOculusOris mmm... greens with white sauce

  • I know I remember hearing another version of this song once. I thought the DJ said it was by 10 Years After, but I cannot find any evidence of it existing. It was much longer and slower than Ringo's version. Typical of early 70s "progressive rock". Anyone else heard another version?
