U.S. NAVY CORPSMAN have more awards for valor and bravery than any other rate in the navy and im proud as fuck to be an FMF corpsman serving with marines. The difference between Marines and everybody else is we know what to expect, and accept that great challenge. Others who know they aren't "Marine Material: go somewhere else. Obviously you feel inadequate. Don't feel bad. not everybody is cut out for the Marines. Enjoy your Soda Fountains on the subs. And the clean sheets. Some need those comforts to feel appreciated, and "special". And you will never have to get into a firefight, just cruise under the water for 3 months. Good luck.
@StefanKelley111 Well I'm sorry to inform you of this but the Marine Corps's boot camp has the second lowest attrition rate at 11.7%. The Navy currently has the highest at 14%. it was previously 13.5% Marine Corps and 17% for the Navy. Apparently fewer are capable of becoming Sailors than Marines. I certainly don't want to take the feeling of accomplishment away from you man, but i'm just telling it like it is. I'm sure you'll shake it off.
With all this yang here, you guys need to realize something. Marines know what they are getting into. We become members of a exclusive tribe. The decision to choose the Corps isn't the same as Air Force or Navy, and makes us different from the git. Only a paratrooper or a ranger would understand, because the challenge to meet the established standard is established long ago. There is nobody prouder than a Sgt of Marines in the Infantry, or a more responsible job anywhere in any Service.

@jameetyy The Navy doesn't see much combat anymore which is true but the Navy still has to do alot of work mostly in the technical field and we provide alot of information to troops on the ground and the Navy helps in many other ways. I am disappointed in my fellow sailor who rudely insulted you, he just doesnt understand that the Marines have their job and we have our own. These people all work hard and yes they may act silly at times. Keep in mind there are more and more young people joining now then adults and yes they act their age so what. The difference between Marines and everybody else is we know what to expect, and accept that great challenge. Others who know they aren't "Marine Material: go somewhere else. Obviously you feel inadequate. Don't feel bad. not everybody is cut out for the Marines. Enjoy your Soda Fountains on the subs. And the clean sheets. Some need those comforts to feel appreciated, and "special". And you will never have to get into a firefight, just cruise under the water for 3 months. Good luck.

@StefanKelley111 Well I'm sorry to inform you of this but the Marine Corps's boot camp has the second lowest attrition rate at 11.7%. The Navy currently has the highest at 14%. it was previously 13.5% Marine Corps and 17% for the Navy. Apparently fewer are capable of becoming Sailors than Marines. I certainly don't want to take the feeling of accomplishment away from you man, but i'm just telling it like it is. I'm sure you'll shake it off.

With all this yang here, you guys need to realize something. Marines know what they are getting into. We become members of a exclusive tribe. The decision to choose the Corps isn't the same as Air Force or Navy, and makes us different from the git. Only a paratrooper or a ranger would understand, because the challenge to meet the established standard is established long ago. There is nobody prouder than a Sgt of Marines in the Infantry, or a more responsible job anywhere in any Service.

HAHAHA. Fun fact an E-4 gets the same base pay in all four branches. Now, how would you like the make your money? Sleeping in a hole you dug yourself? walking miles after miles with heavy gear on in the desert sun? OR pulling into foreign countries to just get drunk and see the sights? @hallsy21 Some guys joined to actually fight and defend America. That actually involves sleeping in holes sometimes, and walking to someplace other than the Mess Deck, and strapping on heavy gear, weapons, ammo, and body armor.
I was in Thailand 5 times, Olongapo 6, Hong Kong 2, Australia 4, and lots of other places, including Northern Europe. But if you think all branches are smarter because you get clean sheets every night, keep it up. We know in advance, and choose our responsibility.
