@blasphemite From a law enforcement standpoint, they had just executed a known political dissident who had a number of followers. Rounding up key figures in his movement would be top priority. They weren't GUARDING the tomb, they were waiting for his followers to come out of hiding so they could be arrested. That's why the empty tomb was first discovered by a group of women. His disciples wouldn't dare to be seen anywhere near that area.
@Econniff um, no, he was executed by romans but on behalf of the jews, and his crime was blasphemy
he was not executed by romans under roman law for treason
yes it had to do with politics, but it was jewish politics, not roman politics, and the jews wanted him dead so they got him on the blasphemy charge to rile up the people
@blasphemite People overemphasize the account in the Gospel of John too much. Mark, Matthew, and Luke place only very limited blame on the Jews for Jesus' arrest and crucifixion, while John places almost all of it on their shoulders. And yet John was written the latest of the four, well removed from the actual event.
I have a Masters in Apologetics from Biola. I also have a book out called The Holman QuickSource Guide to Christian Apologetics that these vids are based on. A long-form DVD is something I'm starting to consider.
I understand:) Thanks for the videos anyway. Have you considered to make this kind of video, but just in a longer and more detailed version on dvd? I would have wanted it for sure. Do you study apolegetics or something?
Good and thorough video! But under Legends I thought you could have a more thoroughly info about how long after the resurrection the biblical sources where written. And more non-christian sources about Jesus`s life. This would build up under the strong and persuasive evidence already accounted for. A timeline is a good idea, it is easy to explain and understand. Love from a brother in Norway :)
Thanks, I agree with you the case would be even stronger with that evidence included. But I ran out of room! These videos were to be 15min long and I was already at 18. That was one of the many hard omissions to hit the time.
Well done - great info !!!

Well put together and researched. It is nice to see solid 'meat' instead of 'milk' put out there! :)
