  • That is too dope!

  • ITS POP!!! im his great great grandson!!! thats crazy!!!!!!!! 24k+ views!!

  • @pie5797 At the end of this short clip he is finishing his second helping of beef ribs. I asked, "isn't he worried about his cholesterol?":) He had great genes.

  • He's very healthy for his age

  • Henry Allingham, the world's oldest man, who shares the same birthday with George Francis, died yesterday (July 18, 2009), nearly 7 months after George Francis passed.

  • Yep, he is the oldest surving man in europe is Henry Allingham ...I wika pedia it...however, this vid does capture the Former oldest U.S. man George Francis (died at 112) ..donut boy the bibble says can die anywhwere from 70-120 years anytime before that is premature death.

  • WOW 112 GOD BLESS!

  • Well, the record for the man to have lived the longest in the bible was Methusala and he was well over 900 years old. It's true!

  • if only we lived forever

  • we do , if you eat your green beans

  • its in the bible that you can't live past 10 thousand years

  • RIP

  • Wow. He looks great for someone who's 100. He only looks like he's in his 80s. He must have seen some great things in his life. On Wikipedia is says he claimed to have seen Louis Armstrong, Booker T. Washington and Babe Ruth hit a home run. Pretty awesome!!!!!

  • he looks pretty good for 106

  • your right o,O ....

  • It's weird how a lot of the REALLY old people don't look that old at all. Wonder what causes that.

  • black people age well

  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts on black people.

  • you might be interested to know that Europes oldest man Henry Allingham ,who is also one of the last 8 surviving world wa r one veterans (and the oldest),was born on the same day as George and is stil alive

  • oldest living(or lived)man in america..

    RIP

  • I've always been interested at how when people get older the harder it is to keep your head straight and to walk. I mean if you stay active every day will your body and mind still start going or is it natural no matter what you try. Though yeah his face makes him look in his 80's

  • Usually it is caused by degenerative changes of the bone in the spine. That's why most people have "the hump".

  • guy just died.

    amazing longevity

    george francis RIP

  • sadly he has just died b ut he lasted well!

  • Yes, I just heard the news today from his Granddaughter. He died yesterday, December 27, 2008. May he rest in peace.

    -Mark

  • man of few words haha, thanks for sharing this video

  • I swear that's trevor mcdonald

  • he looks great for his age and then some. Its inspiratinal to see someone in control of their facalties at such a YOUNG age.

  • He was tearin' up those ribs!

  • he dont even look that old, its amazing

  • Thanks for sharing the video. As a passerby, I think it's wonderful to share moments like this.

  • He must have seen a hell of alot in his life

  • @blangear,Since he was black,he experienced the Jim Crow laws throughout his youth and I wouldn't be surprised of he saw someone he loved or cared about got lynched by an angry white mob.

  • Gee, that's just so beautiful. For Mr. Francis:

    Many happy years have passed.

We hope for more to come.

And even when one life is past,

    Up springs another one.

  • wow he does not look 112 at all!! that is so awesome!!

  • He was 106 when I took these videos, so of course he looks older now. But like you, I was amazed at how young he looked, and how he was able to scarf down beef ribs. Thanks for your comment.

  • Haha wow well God bless him for his long life, I'm just so surprised on how good he looks. I agree with the comment made below, it seems that many elderly African Americans look much younger than they are.

  • Amazing, just amazing. You are so incredibly fortunate, I very much envy you. I'd give almost anything just to see someone like him, just for 1 minute. I almost worship supercentenarians. He is now tied with still-living Henry Allingham as the 22nd oldest verified man in history!! That's really tied for 21st, because you can probably discard Shigechiyo Izumi from the list.

Anyway, thank you so much for the video. I send my well-wishes and sincere veneration to your great relative.

  • @marksjohnson5 lol when he first got into the hospital he was pissed off cuz the food wasnt like the food at home. Everytime he came to family get togethers he would eat as much as he could. :D

  • @jinkasima,That's because blacks don't wrinkle as much as whites do.

  • yeah it was fun!!!

  • That's my great grandpa. His birthday was yesterday.

  • Are you having a party for him today? I saw Althea (his daughter in this movie) last week and she mentioned that they would be up in Sacramento today (the 7th).

  • hey guineapig002,

im sally I saw this youtube video, are you really his grandchild?

How amazing is that, I am doing a photography book on centenarians and was wondering if you could introduce me to your grandfather?

  • Happy Birthday George. Congratulations on reaching 112 years old today, June 6, 2008!

  • black people look younger when there older thats the way it works

  • Wow, he looks so young compared to his age!! He looks 70 something, at most! That's impressive.

  • wow...what is there to do at that age?

  • I was there in 2005, for his, we thought 107th b-day, but actually it was his 108th

  • You're right. When the independent age verification team got involved, they found that he was in fact born June 6, 1896, not 1897, as the family had previously believed.

  • Actually it was his 109th birthday. He was born in 1896.

  • Sorry about that, you're right, are you related to him in anyway

  • For those citing other "older" males they find on the Web, as of Jan. 29, 2008, the oldest man in the World is Japan's Tamoji Tanabe at 112. George Francis, at 111 is the oldest man in the United States. He is tied with Henry Allingham (England) as the second oldest man in the World. These ages are validated by the Gerontology Research Group.

  • bello!!!!!!!!

  • God Bless Him and his decendants. The many stories in his life must be very fascinating to hear. When I say my prayers, I give thanks to all Ancestors who paved the way for me if they were slaves or not. It's also great to see that he has such respectful and loving offspring.

  • is he still living?

  • Yes, he is still living. He is the oldest man in the United States, and the joint 2nd oldest living man in the World.

  • What was his his secret to live so long? god bless him.

  • Clearly there is a genetic component. At the party shown (a couple of weeks after his 106th birthday), he had a second helping of BBQ beef ribs. I jokingly asked "doesn't he know that it's bad for his cholesterol?".

  • He looks pretty good but he seems totally buggered. I guess that's what happens when you're 106.

  • he looks good for someone whos 100

  • not to be rude, but a hundred years ago, does that mean he was born a slave?

  • No, that was ended 31 years earlier, in 1865.

  • he looks pretty young for 106

  • Yes, he does. But I did take this video on June 29, 2002, and he was born on June 6, 1896. His family thought he had been born in 1897, but independent investigators who checked records to verify his 110th birthday, found that he was in fact 111 last June! Type George Rene Francis into google and open the Wikipedia link for more links and refs...Mark

  • He's me great uncle, and he still has a great sense of humor. He's not readily open to the public for health reasons, but he was in great spirits when I saw him on his last birthday.

  • Yes, I saw the pictures from his 111th birthday in June, and it looked like he and everyone else had a good time, especially when Ava, Netta, Freda and Pumpkin did their dream girls routine. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it, but I'll try to get some of the videos from Ava to upload to YouTube.

  • I've got a ton of pics from the party. It was definitely fun. His birthdays are definitely family reunions!

  • well i live outside of sacramento

  • I heard he lives in California where I reside, I want to meet him so bad!

  • He lives in Sacramento, but I don't think he's meets with anyone other than close family members. This video was taken 5 years ago at his granddaughter's house.
