  • Good advice , got a cp3 and having trouble getting everything just right. any more tips on the mixing please let me know

  • It was very informative and I learned a lot. I specialize in hair extensions and sepcifically seamless hair extensions and clip on hiar extensions that you can do yourself.

  • Excellent video thanks for making it, gives me more of an idea what i need todo to get my Honey Bee 2 off the ground and hovering, atm it just shakes like its having a seizer. think i need a vice so i can have it throttled up without it trying to take off so i can fix this problem.

  • Hello nightflyyer, iam looking for your expertise as to why my honey bee V2 starts rotating at full throttle as soon as i connect the battery even though the controller is turned off, and the only way to shut it down is to disconnect the battery.its pretty dangerous as u could imagine. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • i was wondering why my tail only work to the right, thanks nightflyyer

  • Hallo ! First thanks for this nice video. I am able to fly a fix-pitched Heli without problems, could the Honybee-heli the next heli for me to train my abilities to fly a rc-heli ?

  • ive got one of these helicopters,

i cannot get it to lift off even on full throttle, can anyone through some advice my way as its really getting me down!!!!!!!!!

  • my rc honey bee is the same so i sent it back to the shop and my motor was not giving it a lot of power so the shop give me a new motor and the helicopter is working

  • brilliant ! thanks.

  • thanks nightflyer , got my bee sweet! much appreciated.

  • i got em

  • Can you help me??I have a Honey Bee King and after 10 minutes of flying it is empty and the battery is swolen and I cannot use it again.

  • @MythBuster998 That is the time a battery would last, 10 minutes! is normal.

  • alot like my blade cp helicopter.

  • or if ou have elevons it will work in ccpm mode.

  • is the right stick on the top is the throttle hold or 3d mode

  • You can try that, but I believe you cannot remove the mixture on that radio. Sorry.

  • i just upgrade my self my hb with the extreme parts and the heli get all shake at start and and then it goes ok

two question why its get all crazy at the start and the other one when i get my heli to max speed the green led turn into red

    thx you

  • I think the rotor blades are too tight. They are supposed to be loosely snug so they wont move, if you hold it sideways. Red light at full power is okay.

  • thx you p.s

i know its hard to help with words but if you can i will be glad

how i can make my heli goes up and not move left or right (i mean stand on the same place with out moving) when i bought it the guy who sold me it gave it me that why but now after all the upgrades i have done its not 100% stand on the same place )

    thx you very much

  • @aviisback do you know how to repair at fired rec for my honey bee cp2 6ch 72mhzs

  • I am having a problem with the entire rotor head wobbling excessively when I rev it up. Any ideas?

  • Broken ball, out of track, chipped or cracked blades, swashplate fell apart, or blades out of track, etc.

  • nice solder heat sink tip. i'm going to try it :D

  • Thanks kindly.

  • yeah, yeah flat and leveld I get it!

  • I just wanted to tell you. I think you are a genius! I wish someday to know half as much as you do. The people that know you must be very lucky!

Where else to get good advice than to ask the professionals themselves.

Can you tell me, is there a place to get helicopters repaired by exceed, like the

G2 and the eagle 50? I can do minor repairs, but putting it back together, it doesn't seem to fly right. I must have done something wrong, I mean, hey, what's with all these extra screws.

  • Thanks kindly for your comments. So sorry I have not had a chance to get back to you very quickly.

If you see my latest video, 300th, you will see how many emails I have and you will know why. LOL.

Thanks much. I guess most people repair thier own.; If it is still messed up, I would suggest finding a club or someone at the hobby shop to test it out. That is really the only way. What is is doing wrong?

  • Great tips ,tnx

but its dangerous to fly that close to your face

watch it ,we want to see more of them tips ;)

  • Thanks.

  • YEAH HELIS GET SMLLER WHEN FLYING HIGHER.. trust me i took my blade 400 to 200 feet.. i was squinting like crazy.. lol

  • can you help me ive got this helicopter and everytime i try to take off it goes up and to the left and i just cant get it off the groung as soon as it takes off it crashes what could be the problem can you help me please ? i would be very greatfull

  • Well that is why helis are so hard to fly. Most have the same problem. I will send you my 9 heli flying tips in a pm. Good luck.

  • the swash plate has to lean a little bit to the right in neutral position. that is because of the tail rotor pushing the heli to the left. if its leveled u have to stear against it until it loses contact with the ground.

and use a landing aid! it will prevent most crashes for you.

  • hey dave i was wondering if you could give me a website to find floats for rc helicopters

  • See my video on "Stealth Helicopters" and try Hobby-Lobby(.)com for floats.

  • im practisin with my simulators but is a Honey bee that one ur showing here is those good to learn by and from this model to Honey bee king 2 would it be esier that way???

  • The MK3 HB is best for learning on. The HBking 2 is not for beginners. See my 9 heli flying tips for more.

  • nice vids im getting a honey bee have any place u think i shoultry to buy it from also would it be better if i put some led lights on?

  • Click the link in the description box to get to xheli(.)coms website. They have good prices on Honeybees. Learn to fly it before modifying it with lights, is my opinion.

  • k thanks

  • hello i can to hear little english

    but this teach is nice

my cp2 give me big problem

do you transform tothe brushless for cp2?

  • Not easy to do. Youl would need a special controller and mixer and speed controller, and not be able to use the stock one. Then the bigger main motor means the tail rotor would not have enough power to counter act the main blades torque, so It would be expensive and really not worth it.

  • you say special controller is ff9??

i only transform to the main motor

i think esky brushless motor 3800KV

and 30A speed controller is ok ?

  • Well what would you plug the brushless controller in to?

You cant use the stock RX all in one controller, because it already has a speed controller in it, and will not run your brushless controller.

  • I setup trainer helis with zero negative pitch. Keeps the heli from slamming into the ground as hard if the throttle is lowered too far too fast. What do you think?

  • That works. This one is set up that way too, until you use the 3d switch.

  • So i just got a honey bee mk3 and well its pretty cool. but sometimes when i turn the transmitter off the little heli flips out takes off and lands on its side any help...?

  • turn the helicopter off first

  • Transmitter on first, transmitter off last. That is the rule of thumb, as stray signals can take over from something else.

  • hey cam u help me i just got a honey bee 4 ch and its vibrates alot nd i cant take it of its not stable it can take of without movin half wau across the room can u tell me what cntrl position i need it in and gain . ??? :D

  • The gain has nothing to do with the flying, only spinning. Helis are very difficult. I will send you my 9 heli flying tips for more insight. Leave the gain where it was and make sure your blades aren't too tight.

  • Can you help me? I just got the king 2 but it hangs to the left and it spins to the left too even with trims to the right, and I did nothing it's just stock right out of the box, what do I need to modify on the heli?

  • Make sure all controls and trims are centered. Adjust the control rods and links so the swashplate is level side to side and front to back. Make sure the flybar paddles are also horizontal. Make sure the Tail rotor is vertical and spinning freely, and make sure your going the right way. The left stick pushed left is supposed to make the nose go left, not the tail. Good luck

  • hello, i have a eflite blade cp with an 4n1 with gyro. i was wondering if it is better to put an exturnal gyro on it, i also have traning blades on it and wondering if i should put the wood blades bac on it to get a better flite, and also a better set up. r u going still going to do a web show and a tv show, thank u forshow us how rc helis work .u r the man. thank u :-)

  • You would somehow have to disable the gyro that is in the 4 in 1, before you could put on a secondary gyro.

Stock is best, I believe on the blades. Wood flies the best. Before I can proceed, I need waaay more numbers to vote and make comments on my video, so I can present it to the producers. They want to know how many will actually watch, as they dont want to waste money. We shall see, we shall see. Thanks again for your comments.

  • I have a Honey Bee MK3 and when I plug in the Li-Po battery (7.4v) the 4 in 1 reciever shows a red, flashing LED light and it flashes 3 times. Then it stops flashing and it doesn't respond to anything I do with the transmitter. I can't figure out what's wrong and I need some help. By the way this is my first heli but I have a simulator so I know how to fly it pretty well.

  • Make sure the throttle hold switch and or 3 d switch is off, and the throttle stick is all the way down and the trim lever too. Otherwise, the motor will not arm. If this is not the problem, better return it, or have someone else look at itl

  • I have a cx2 blade coaxial heli and I just purchased the king2 hows the transition from coaxial to 3D? thanx

  • HBking is not for beginners. Any 4 channel Heli is good for learning on beginning with coaxials like Blade MCX, Cx2, Blazing stars, etc.

My next choice would be the Honeybee Fixed Pitch. They are cheaper and can fly nice circuits around and can handle mild breezes well. Even better is the CP2, but this one has more parts to break if you crash. (see my honeybee videos)

Simulator practice will help to learn controls and orientation. Learn on a VVW, if you never crash it, then get the Porsche

  • What would be the correct setup for the Honeybee king 2 servo reversers. I cant figure it out the the stupid manuel sucks really bad

  • HB king II manual is poor all right. Take it to a hobby shop for sure, but just make sure the swash plate goes in the right direction as the stick is moved. If not, switch the switches.

Ex. Forward on the right stick should make the swash plate tilt forward, if not, switch the switch that makes it happen. I sent the HB king back to the guy, so dont have one to look at to tell you for sure the positions.

  • At first I had set my gain and Centering like you did, and I am able to hover pretty well. I decided to try to redo my Gain and Centering from scratch by turning my gain all the way down, then I slowly increased my centering screw until I could hover adequately, then I increased my gain slowly until the tail had enough authority. Guess what? I ended up with the VERY same gain and centering positions that you show in this video!

  • Thanks for keeping me honest. LOL. Good for you, your flying again.

  • Thanks from this video, and from that Proper Honey Bee CP2 setup video! They are both great, but you should ask somebody to photograph for you. Anyway thanks a lot. I am going to have that CP2 in few days. This video is really helpful!

  • Yep, well a year and a half ago, I guess I didn't have my friend around to video. Hopefully you like my newer ones. Thanks for your comments.

  • u could just keep ur learning kit on it has 4 orange balls...

  • Those are ugly, in my opinion and I didn't need it to keep it from falling over, I needed it to see. I never buy the training kit, so did not have one anyway. These pingpong balls are way cheaper. LOL.

  • hey you sound like art bell

  • Hmmmm...

  • fxxk all that get a trex 450

  • I like my Blade 400 first of all, and second a TRex is not for beginners. Learn on a VW, and if you NEVER CRASH IT, then you can get your Porsche is my opinion as a certified 3D instructor.

  • lol i just noticed at 00:45 you said, so it isnt gonna fly away and kill ya, lol that had me in stiches :)

  • True, remember I broke all the bones in my right foot with a gas helicopter in the early days, and it hurt so bad, I wished I was dead.

    LOL.

  • well i have the honey bee and well i got it and tried the setup u had and the tail rotor pushes way too much and causes the helicoptor to spin uncontrolably, i'd messed with the gain and got it to slow down but it still moves to the left, i turned it all the way and it still turns to the left.

  • went to honey bee set up an mod like you said but the vidio dont work but thanks for your help so far watch your vidios all the time an do help thanks steve

  • Sorry. Check out my lates video...Honeybee King 2. That may help.

  • thank you for the replay when i go my honey bee i put the batt in 2 check the servoes to see if the worked good an the blades spon on me an hit the floor an broke the ball off of the bell control arm can i fix that by drilling a hole an useing a small srew or should i get a new one thanks

  • Bummer. Make sure the throttle hold 3d switch is off next time, as that can happen. In my Blade 400 repair video, I fixed a ball and show how. You might want to try that. Good luck.

  • Dear Dave, i took my Fixed pitch HB out after long time. but even after pushing the left stick all the way towards right the heli wont stop rotating. i have checked the two pots as in your video. what should i do? thanks.

  • Put the pots back to where they were WHEN STOCK and look at my Honeybee setup tips videos, etc. Also remember left stick pushed all the way to the right should make the nose go to the right, not the tail. Just a reminder, as lots of people got it backwards. If that is all okay, then you should check for a bad motor. THEY BURN OUT EASILY IF YOU DONT SHUT OFF THE MOTOR FAST ENOUGH IN A CRASH.

  • thanks a lot Dave. by the way how is brandi doin?

  • Your welcome. Brandy is fine. Thanks for asking.

  • hello dave i just got a new honeybee king 2 an esky flight sim i got vista how can i get it to work on my computer you said somthing about a junction box were can i get one this is my frist heil could you help me .jarheadsc

  • Well see my video again. The box is simply a USB hub that is not 2.0. That is the only way I could use the TX. You can get them at any Staples store or Best buy etc.

  • i also wanted to know what electronic peices i need to convert my honey bee mk3 to brushless? i think all i need is the brushless tail and main motor and 1 brushless ESC, but im not shure.

  • You would also have to change your radio. I do not think it is economical. If you are learning, you would probably not see any benifit, except it will crash faster. Leann on a VW, then if you NEVER crash it, you can always move up to the Porsche. ETRMs need mixers to work right too, which must be in the radio receiver for etrm helis.

  • I have a honey bee mk3 and i wanted to make it lighter. i was wondering if there are any carbon parts from other helicopters that work on the mk3? because there are no upgrades parts specificaly for the HB mk3 that i know of.

  • Sorry, not much left to do to make it lighter and it would be not a great amount anyway to worry about, as it flies pretty good as is, I think.

  • can u please respond to my message asap dave? i just got my heli n i m excited to fly it even though i am still new at it

  • Sorry, which message? I thought I did respond. I get over 300 a day, so I easily get lost.

  • i have a e004 but for some resone the tail spins way faster than the main and it doesnt even get off the ground at full carge do u know why many thaks

  • not sure what an e004 is, but that sounds like the gain is turned up too high for the tail. ETRMs will not be trimmed til they reach eye-level hover, so it must be set for that, not on the ground. Moving the left stick to the left should make the nose go to the left, not the tail. Check it.

  • what is the honey bee made of plastic ,carbon fiber, metal??

  • Landing gear supports and tail boom and some parts on head are Carbon fibre. Motors are metal, and the rest is plastic.

  • i recently got one of these when i try to take off it tries to fly sideways any help what do i need to adjust and how thanks

  • You have to "pop" it up to eye level hover (out of ground effect) for it to be right, but it is difficult for most. Remember flybar paddles and swashplate must be totally level and right stick moved to right is supposed to make the nose go to the right, not the tail rotor. Read my 9 heli flying tips for more.

  • As far as I can see the rear blade blows in the opposite direction of the fin... So, why removing it?

  • Because it also blocks the intake on the other side of the blade. It is used for forward flight like a rudder, so is better to have if your flying in forward flight. It can be moved a bit forward of the Tail rotor too.

  • Dave, I figured out the problem with the battery hook up. Can you guess why I use the tag bozzojoe?? No need for reply. Thanks

  • Dave, I saw your positions for the servos as posted in the previous comments and see that the positions I mentioned are correct. Sorry for the previous post!!! Glen

  • Dave, bozzojoe here again... On my transmitter the servos were set with the elevator and rudder in the reverse positions when I got it. How should all of the servos be set if you please??

    thanks

  • Dave, I have a problem with charging the Li-polymer battery... No matter how I plug the battery in, the red and green lights are flashing. I assumed that the red arrow on the two inner connections means that the red lead goes to the red posts. I hate the supplied instructions, they're so lacking and lame.

  • hey dave just wanted to ask do u think the the Dx6i transmitter or a Jr macgregor transmiiter would go with the mini titan because i had a pretty harsh crash on my cp2 which messed up the skid and blades. but soon it should be repaired

  • I don't know. I don't have a mini titan, but if it has a 2.4ghz rx in it, I would go with the Dx6i if it is compatible.

  • are you building this stuff? or is it complete when you buy it? i love to build stuff xd

  • Nope, this is a RTF heli, but you may be able to buy the kit.

  • whatyou mean? is this a kit thath you build by your self or is it completed when resieved?

  • RTF means Ready to Fly. It is ready when you receive it.

  • ye you see i am an newbe xd

  • do you recomend overall for a kid an e-flight blade cx2. I might get one but i need to know from u because you are the master of this stuff. rock on

  • See my video "choice between Havocs and Honeybees is CX2, (Lama is identical except for radio and much cheaper). SO my answer is yes. You will love it. Study my 9 heli flying tips first before flying it.

  • Its my birthday today and I got the honeybee CP2!! Great video... cheers dood!

  • Congratulations and happy birthday.

  • yeah ok, coolio thanks :)

  • ooo and just another curious newby question cuz i'm gettin an hbk2 in a couple days, do u lose lift when u spin around using rudder? cuz on my heli there are counter rotating blades for stability, and using rudder only slows down on set of blades making it spin due to torque, which also causes less lift and it sinks a little... so on a heli with an actual tail rotor using rudder shouldn't cause less lift right?

  • Yes, that was always a problem with ETRMs and coaxials, but the Honeybee King II has a belt driven tail, and you wont see anything to be concerned about.

  • here's a quick quistion, why's it so important to turn on the transmitter before the heli?

  • Because with some of the fm radios (like this one), and speed controllers that not on 2.4ghz allows the servos to run up tight against there stops damaging them. Sometimes the motor would take off by itself, hurting the machine and you. This is because the radio can "see" other radio interference. With the TX on first, you are sending out the proper signals to the radio in your machine. Once it happens to you once, you will learn for sure, as we all have.

  • yeah well i've seen what can happen when a heli is plugged in first with my little esky dauphin :P I was just kinda curious as to why, thanks :)

  • i got honey bee cp2 2day rear motor wasnt pluged in sorted that but no matter how much throttle i give it the hellie wont lift ? and the main motor is pluged in ok right way? can u help again please thank you,,,

  • Make sure the blades are spinning clockwise. If too much or too little pitch it wont lift. Make sure battery is fully charged.

  • i got honey bee series and when i plug the battery in the rotor spins, ive watched ya vid on setting up and just cant get it to stop.

  • Make sure the Throttle hold/3d switch is pushed back, off. Also turn on the Tx first with trims and throttle all the way down. Maybe the throttle switch on the TX is reversed.

Then turn on the heli, but dont move it til the light turns steady. If it still is spinning, then take it back.

  • Main rotor needs to be spinning clockwise and the pitch may be wrong. I dunno how that could all happen however, as they are all set up pretty close from the factory, unless someone at the Hobby shop messed with it before you got it....???

  • just curious .does the antenna wire coming out of the 4 in 1 have to be so long (HB cp2)

  • Yes it does. It is tuned to a special length depending on the radio.

  • once again thank you for your help

  • Your very welcome.

  • is it possible to make the control less sensitive by moving servo rods in a couple of holes

  • Yes, make sure to do all three servos, and only go in 1 hole at first.

  • would you please send me the 9 tips ...thankyou

  • On their way in a PM.

  • i noticed in your video the 4 in 1 controller is orange is that an upgrade ..( mine is gray came with heli )

  • They were all orange when I bought this over a year and a half ago. This is a HB CP2 version.

  • should you get a motor with a hea sink does it really matter that much?

  • I have solder wrapped around my motors to use at heat sinks, but the tail rotor still burned up...6 this year, with or without. Best is to stop after 5 minutes, let it cool for 5 minutes and then fly again. The motors will last longer.

  • this is a great video very informitive for a beginner

  • Thanks much. Do you have my 9 heli flying tips?

  • my main rotor blades are rotating in the wrong direction .how do i reverse them

  • Reverse the main motor plug (turn it around) on the receiver.

  • iv just ordered a honey bee cp2 ,,,is it worth ordering the main and rear motor heatsinks? would they make it better ?

    thank you

  • The heat sinks are good, especially for the tail rotor. I have burned out 6 of them in 2 years.

But if you stop (as I recommend) after 5 minutes and let the motors cool (and the brain) for 5 minutes, it will last a long time.

  • thank you again :) ill order em ,,,,,,,,,,

  • thank you for your information the servos were plug in wrong came from factory that way ..now they work right after usung your info

  • Good. Have fun.

  • I HAVE A HONEYBEE CP2.. I think my 4 in 1 controller is bad..when i push forward on the elevator stick the flybars tilt to the right ..not forward like your video..every thing is good and level...any advice

  • Your servos are undoubtabley plugged in wrong.

Here is how they should be.

Servo switches from L to R.

Ail Down, El Up, Th down, Rudder Up.

    Servos plug in this way.

    Front-Ch 2, (2nd from top)

    Right rear, Ch 1 (top)

Left Rear, Ch 6, just above the bottom (batt)

Black wires are closest to the edge of the Rx.

Try that and I'm sending my tips.

  • no wind 2nite so me took hawk out with no canopy and pushed 4 in 1 away little more and it flew the whole battery out ,,,but the upper motor lot hotter than the lower so heatsink shud sort it out :)

  • Good job.

  • i think its heat problem ,,,i ordered heatsink cos i wrapped wire around the motors and it stayed in the air longer,,,strange i dont av same problem with my other helies ???

  • Take it back, if you can, but heat can definitely kill them. It can be instantly if you crash and leave the motors running even a few seconds, since there is no fuse.

  • my hawk over year old and with new parts never crashed ,,,but those motors r real hot hope heatsink works ok :)

  • its me again need ya help that twister hawk i ad trouble with ,,,i changed both motors lipo and charger bottom hub everything exept frame and 4 in 1 but it still loses power and comes down any ideas ? its as if not enuf throttle ,,

    thanks :)

  • Anything over 5 minutes is a long time to run those motors and they can be destroyed and loose magnetism with just one very long flight..It still sounds as though your not getting full power somewhere. If you have tried every logical solution with failure, then the only answer must be illogical.

  • ey guys i got a question.which is newer(better) the esky belt cp or the esky honey bee king 2.i can hardly tell the difference between the two it looks so much alike.except for the size specs i noticed in which the esky belt cp is bigger.appreciate any informative response thank you!

  • Belt tail rotor drives are more precise in turning and usually harder for new people to learn. The King 2 is newer, and I believe better.

  • thank you for the response sir.opinion noted.

  • thanks for the advice! I'll keep that in mind..

  • hey dave, I was wondering, do you use the throttle hold in normal non 3d flight? would it make it easier to hover?

  • Not unless it is really windy. It is a lot more stable when spinning up but it is also more touchy on the Hover side of things.

It is easier to learn to hover when it is off. Learn to walk before you start running, is my motto. Battery runs longer too.

  • i just checked mini pred and model shop 4got plug rear motor in grrrrr that why it outa a control plus the driveshaft in the boom as movement it slipps away from rear cog ,,there noway they test flown this me not happy ......

  • That is a real bummer. I don't blame you for not being happy.

  • iv just rang my model shop and all my transmitter settup fine ,,i put new batteries in it ,and again bleep bleep bleep then heli goes wild and i have no conrol over my mini pred?? any ideas ?? and cud i make it little docile by turning the gain down ? thank you :)

  • Adjusting gain isnt going to make it any easier. If your throttle hold is on, or 3d switch is on, it beeps on mine. If you dont wait for the gyro to align itself, before moving it, it will be uncontrollable. Helis are difficult to master, and if your not experienced, it is hard to tell if it is the heli or the pilot for most. I would take it back and have someone fly it and trim it. Its hard to learn on your own. You wouldnt jump in a real heli without help. Good luck.

  • thanx ,,,no 3d switch on it all sett correct ill take blades off try again so it dont try kill me :) ,,ill let ya know :) ,,,,.......

  • can anybody help me i just got my century mini pred back from model shop they test flown it in shop was great ,,but i got it home turn transmiter on then pred bleeps as they do then it just spins at full speen ad 2 leave it till battery ran out ,,i cud not stop it atall :(

  • Something must've failed. Typicallly if Electronics for 5 minutes, they will work for 5 years, but if you have a failure in the RX or TX, or batteries are low, you might consider returning it and have them test fly it again for you.

  • i think somebody at work been messin with the transmaiter controls cos it was in warehouse 4 few days just cant find website 4 instructions n correct settings ,,if they av they in trouble as cud av lost fingers ,,the helli only month old ,,i ad boom strike 2nd flight thats why it went model shop and they set it up 4 me 2 and changed damaged boom...

  • Here are the proper settings for the Honeybee CX2.

TX Servo switches (from L to R).
