  • I can't believe you didn't add María Barrientos, Erna Sack and Yma Sumac, especially the last two!! Anyway, good work!

  • Poshti u vsech predstavlennich zdez pevic vizglivie ili svistyashie verchnie noti.

  • Wow. Where can I find at clip at 1:02?

  • @MrDajx Search for "Popoli Di Tessaglia by Natalie Dessay" and for sure you'll find it {;

  • @LacrimaLunaMortua Thanks a lot :)

  • WONDERFUL! thanks a lot! I think u should make a list to know all the arias :)

  • ahhahah too funny 5:25 to 5:29 I laughed so hard :)

  • hopefully it was just poor recording, but, Erika Koth?? ICK, whoever heard of her anyways? that was just bad singing....

  • I wish you had included the colortura run from "O Zittre Nicht", but that was some collatura goodness.

  • thankyou so much for uploading, Joan will always be my favourite having seen her many times but these are fantastic!!!!

  • lmao were you trying to show Gruberova off or bash her??? lmao i'm sure her fans would argue the final note is on pitch!

  • plenty of whipped cream but where's the cake?

  • I loved it!! Coloraturafan, From which opera is the Gruberova excerpt?

  • I think its end of mad scene from Linda di Chamounix. @y88y88y

  • Well, was speaking about the first clip, second is Zerbinetta from Ariadne auf Naxos, of course. @y88y88y

  • If it is too much to ask I totally understand but could you list what shows and/or arias all of these excerpts are from? They are so amazing

  • It's always fun to hear things like this.

    Thanks for the effort.

The interesting thing to me is some sopranos kinda eek 'em out. I'm not saying the notes are not supported, just not always real pretty.

You also can't always judge from these performances the size of the voice.

June Anderson's voice live in the theatre, was one of those sopranos where there was no thinning as she went into alt! Her E flats were loud! ( as were Dame Joan's notes in alt)

Tthat was a real treat to hear.

  • Gruberova is the only one that slides and scoops...and has a mostly flat high note at the end.

  • Her tehnic is unique, indeed. @Bigman240

  • My kind of madness!

  • Many thanks Coloraturafan for having uploaded 2 videos , gone to my favorite.

  • Dear D. Sorry to hear things haven't been going as well as you might have hoped. You know how I've always felt about you. I think you should be canonized for the gifts you share with the world. You have given so much- especially of my divine Mariella. May the days ahead somehow grow brighter for you- coi voti del cor- Ernesto Vasselli

  • you can never have too much of a good thing when it comes to these videos. Thank you o much for making an effort to put all of thi incredible material up on YouTube x

  • Dear coloraturafan, can you please write the titles of the aria? Thankyou!

  • Thank you all very much

  • great to finally see Rita Shane in action . I've only known her from a wonderful performance on a highlights of Rinaldo LP. As always coloraturafan, you're a treasure.

  • Thank you, Coloraturafan! From which opera is the Elizabeth Vidal excerpt?

  • @4114224 Aubers Manon

  • coloraturafan, I am a fan of yours. Thanks for putting together such awesome "craziness" and for introducing me to quite a few voices for the first time. You rock!

  • No, bring it on. Thanks a million, love them all.

  • yes I think you can! but it´s your own choice.

    I couldn´t stand 3hours.

  • Yes I think you can! but it´s your own choice!

3 hours of only this would make me crazy!

  • damrau....damrau....annnnnnnnnd damrau...
