you have to give respect to Roddick. if anyone can hate Federer, it would be Roddick. Federer ruined so many chances for him to get more majors. Roddick is an amazing player, but it was just horrible luck that Federer was playing at most of Roddick's time also.

By the way, keep in mind that this game was BEFORE (!!) Federer began his era of domination. In fact, that same season he was demolished by Ancic in the first round of Wimbledon, and his best achievement of the year was winning the Hamburg Masters on clay. If he was this good before he even started winning regularly, it's no wonder that barely anyone other than Nadal, Djokovic and Murray have been able to beat this guy on a consistent basis.

@Maher312 yeah but thats because federer has dropped in form recently. He was world number 1 back when this happened and has been world number 1 for ages!

@19Wylds95 When Nadal first became #1, it was in no small part due to Federer having fitness issues after suffering glandular fever at the beginning of 2008, but having said that Federer still managed to peak during the majors and Nadal was unbelievable in the French and Wimbledon finals that year, as well as the Australian Open final in 2009 by which time Federer's health was back to normal but Nadal now had the psychological advantage over him. Federer's more naturally gifted, but only just.

The first point Federer won because of a ridiculous thing Roddick always does. See how he does the smach. The ball doesn't go down and foward, making it go away from his opponent. It goes quite down, quite and very vertically only. Obviously the ball will fall on the court, still able to his opponent shooting it back.
