We found Kashmir a very safe place and enjoyed walking around the streets. My wife and I, on our walks in Srinigar, were invited to tea by two families. We only spent a couple hours in Gulmarg because of the snow storm, but if weather permits get out and walk around and get to know the people.
@samsays HEY SAM! nice to hear such good words for my place...are you planning 2 come here in winter season 2012? and i completely agree "It's strange how people can see what they want to see - if they don't take the time to open their eyes".
when i was in delhi,so many indian discourage me and stop me from go to sri nagar, they told me,there is political tension and extremist group, kashmiris people really bad,
it doesn't make sense,it is totally fabricated,
i found that kashmiri people so friendly and charmed,
most of delhi people especially in pahar ganj are greeding, they are always looking for any point to cheating foreigner like me,
street and everything are dirty, dogs and shits scattering everywhere,
It's strange how people can see what they want to see - if they don't take the time to open their eyes.
The thing that made the trip to Kashmir so special were the wonderful people, two of which, including a 12 year-old girl, that invited my wife and I to visit them in their home.

dont go to kashmir during winter, u may not be able to see the beauty because the plane cant land due to the thick fogs.I just came back on 12 dec 2007 with the tour agent malaysia Reliance, 2 days wasted at the airport and hotel and the flight finally cancelled.
people are not cruel they have a hard life ,survival is important for them, terrorists accros the pakistan ,indian military ,police they are suspicius to every one they want to live in peace
What makes you think Kashmiris are cruel. This racist mentality will never go.You make comments on people you dont know from the confines of your home.you are disgusting
Thanks for your comments and glad you liked the video. I am disturbed by some of the recent comments.
I have visited many Muslim countries, and 99% of all Muslims are peaceful, kind and helpful to visitors.
The small radical element who believes in Jihad are really really scary people and it is good to be constantly vigilant - but to look at all Muslims as our enemy is a big mistake and I think will only result in escalation of mistrust and a situation where no one wins.
Kashmir is heaven, been there thrice.. porkis(pakistanis) spoiling the place.. i am sure you all gonna have fun there too.. do visit this place.. it worths visiting.. dont worry about Porkis anymore.. this state is well gaurded by Indian Army.. and locals are very helpful..

We went to Gulmarg in the late 80's absolutely beautiful. The people were nice and Kashmir was just gorgeous.
There was a bit of violence when we were there.. not so good. People should learn tolerance.
