@iranclassiccar my 99 cavalier 2.2 15 hp does 0-60 in ten flat also lol. it even has a 225 lb sub box in the trunk. and 220k miles on it:) but then again it weighs alot less then this.
I think it's funny how so many people are hating on the Malibu's. You run a impala into a wall and you will die. You run the Malibu you actually have a chance. Its the one of the safest cars on the road and guess what the speed limit is 60. Dumasses. I own a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu 4 speed and it is a good safe reliable car. I am a big guy too and i fit inside it. 6'3 250
LOL should have just bought an impala LT1 cheaper and you get a very responsive 3.5 VVT V6 as the base engine don't underestimate the numbers of these 3.5 liter v6s the VVT makes it feel as strong as a Honda accord V6 and you'll be pulling 7.2-7.5 sec to 60 every time come check out my vids and you'll see what I mean!!!!
@90Mrknowitall But that Impala is so ugly. The malibu looks great. Luckily, Chevy is slappin around the Idea of a REAL RWD Impala I think based on the poor (dead) Pontiac G8!
@Motorfordtoyota LOL i think the impala is a little bland too but its still handsome LOL and yeah i heard that too i think that thier bringing the G8 back as a caprise i heard but i would love to see an impala in rwd form and a 5.3 and 6.2 (make it badass)
@90Mrknowitall He should have gone with the Malibus 3.6 liter with over 260 hp. The Malibu is a much nicer car inside and out than the Impala. Impala feels too cheap and handles like a truck in comparison.
@MarekCyzio I agree, I was just telling that other guy that a malibu with the 3.6 is much faster and nicer than an impala with the 3.5. I have an 08 lt2 malibu with the 2.4. It looks like you have the six speed, I have the 4 speed and let me tell you, it is painfully irresponsive to all but full throttle. it wont break the tires loose with the traction control off in the rain with the steering wheel cranked to one direction.
@bballman345 It is 6 speed, and actually the manual gear changes are fun - I sometimes drive her car just to enjoy the paddles. Malibu is a great car - first Chevrolet that is a real (not just price) competition to Camry and Accord. Yes, it is slow, but not as slow as for example Prius.

One of my cars has an '80's 2.5L GM "IRON DUKE" engine... you think that's slow? Try going 0-60 in 41 seconds........... :P

a large sedan with a 4 banger? 10 seconds isnt that bad...especially if your getting 21 mpg....try my f-150 that gets 11mpg
