I like this store because all the other stores in the parks are all for kids and only sell costumes or things like kids clothing with princesses on them and stuff but D-Street sell Disney themed clothes like baseball hats that have cool designs on them.

ANOTHER clothing store? I'll admit to having a few Disney shirts, but you can put Mickey on only so many shirts before everyone gets bored and won't buy them anymore. But the Vinylmation station looks kind of cool; why not make a store where people can paint their own Disney characters (princesses, heroes, the Vinylmations, etc) or other clayware (dishes, cups, bowls, etc), either at home or right in the store?
and some new store in Downtown Disney somehow demeans that? you do know it costs money to get into the parks, right? and those parks are all filled with stores, shops, and carts that sell people stuff. because, um, it costs money to keep all that inspiration and "joyment" running.
@freshPrincess626 True, but it's all about the quality. Like the difference between buying a Mouse Ears hat and buying a baseball cap with some modern-artsy form of Mickey thrown on the brim. The Mouse Ears hats are based on the hats of the Mouseketeers/Mickey Mouse Club, which was a TV show created by Walt back around the time Disneyland was under construction. But the baseball hat just says "we threw Mickey on here to get a few extra bucks in retail".
WHAT? that's ridiculous. it's Disney. they put Mickey, in all his incarnations and forms, on EVERYTHING. if that's your logic, are you upset at Disney for making waffles and pizza in the shape of his head and then charging almost twice what waffles or pizza would cost at the grocery store?
@freshPrincess626 The waffles and pizzas are different. You can only get those in one of the Disney Parks, and had some genuine time/consideration put into their individual creation and distribution. But everyone and their mother sells baseball hats nowadays without the care or attention to detail that other products get.
@waltdisney19282008 Yeah, but kids weren't allowed there, anyway. And what about the adults who visit Disney kid-free and want to have some "grown-up" fun? Maybe not so many bars, but a dance club would be nice.

Vinylmation is the biggest rip-off in history. They're like $13 baseball cards; you don't know which one you'll get

Walt's not just turning over in his grave, he's spinning
dewfreakii 1 year ago 18
@dewfreakii
why? it's a STORE.
freshPrincess626 1 year ago
@freshPrincess626 Because Walt's vision wasn't about the profit, it was about the inspiration and the joyment of others.

@waltdisney19282008 Pleasure Island is gone? I thought it was a big adult-only part of Downtown Disney . . .

@ztslovebird maybe parents wanted the parks and downtown disney to be completely family friendly

@ztslovebird downtown disney used to be all clubs and a completely adult area but they recently closed the clubs so now its for everyone.

@hinatasorrows Actually, There's already one in Downtown Disney in California, it's right next to the fossil store. ;)

the design-your-own that looks like it has signatures on the ears would be so much better to get signed than just a regular address book.

@prettyinpunk666 i was thinking the same thing! such a great idea, you can display it rather than finding it years later
