No, because Zoroark only changes its appearance. It keeps its typing, and presumably its stats and moves as well.

I feel like infernape would a better choice than gengar for zoroark, because you could easily trick your opponent by sending out the real infernape near the start, then later use zoroark as infernape, the only problem would be if they use fighting type moves :|

Then again, if zoroark has terrible defense/sp. def stats, then this would be bad :D

I think it would be cool is if in the next gen they'll have "custom" surf picture. As in, instead of showing a wailmer, it would show like a tentacool or whatever the fuck your using.

I'm personally waiting for someone to stick Zoroark into the second slot and switch into Zoroark. It'll be priceless. Also thinking more on how this ability works, wouldn't it make sense to keep Zoroark as a lead?

Probably not, because the moment the illusion is broken you're giving away one of your teammates for free. Besides, Zoroark might not have what it takes to be a good lead anyway. It depends on the stats and movepool, but a slow, frail Pokémon without the likes of Stealth Rock or Taunt would be doomed as a lead, illusion or not.

You're reading into this WAY too much. Palkia got along great with Kyogre as well, so it's not even a first. It's just a coincidence... besides, I don't think they're stupid enough to remake a GBA game on the DS. They'll probably wait for gen 6 on the 3DS.

Generation 5 seems like a continuation of generation 4, in the sense that game freak is thinking up as many ways as possible to push the dragon element of the game. With the Fire and Electric subtypes of this generation, as well as steel and water subtypes of last generation, i have a feeling that if there is a generation 6 the legendaries will likely sport a ground or dark subtype. The reason I say those is because they seem to be the most random, i mean who wants a dragon/ground pokemon?

I thought the illusion ability had no effect on zoruarks type, and that it would always be a dark type despite which pokemon it transformed into.

Which is true. Hence why a Gengar illusion is so awesome. You can bait Ghost and Dark attacks with it, and oops, it turns out it's not very effective!

@Slowflake True enough, but it might not even work like that. The original thought was that illusion would have no effect on type, whether or not that still stands remains to be seen, but if it is so then the gengar trick would be useless. But it's a good idea nonetheless, I think if it doesn't effect the type, then it might affect it's stats, I'm not sure.

It's been confirmed over and over again that Zoroark will always remain mono-Dark no matter what. After all, it's just an illusion, not a transformation, so the stats will probably remain the same as well.

Another good thing that Zoroark could transform into would be a Spiritomb. Absolutley no weaknesses and depending on how strong Zoroark's defense may be then it would be almost invincible unless of course they make a new type that is super effective against it then I guess Gengar would be a great transformation. Also if you catch Regice on part 100 that would be quite cool.

Correct me if I'me wrong, but wouldn't it be a good idea to heal your Wailord and Relicanth before you go anywhere, much less try and capture a Regice?

Tsk tsk tsk. Two things: first, Pokémon are automatically healed if they're sent to a PC after being caught, and the cave I'm going to only opens the Regis' own caves, there's nothing in there.

The ability of Zoroark is amazing. Also, I would never expect Gengar to be the perfect transformation for Zoroark; just seems kind of random, although, you are quite good with facts off the top of your head.

One problem with Teravoltage bypassing Ground: it's not "Terravoltage".  It's "Tera" as in terabyte, not "Terra" as in Earth. Trillion voltage, not earth voltage.

@sabombardonist "Tera" is just the romanization of the japanese characters. It could very well be that "Terra" is the intention, but we won't know until the english name/description of the ability is released.

@MelodyOfFlutes Good point. But considering that Reshiram's ability seems to boost its STAB without hitting anything differently, it can be safely assumed that Zekrom's will do likewise. Perhaps a 2X STAB bonus instead of a 1.5. Which, if I'm right, will make 100% accurate Thunders from Zekrom hurt like hell, and boosted Fire Blasts super boosted. 250% more damage? I think that says it all.

Oh. That makes sense... but I hope that's not it. Even if they only boosted type 2, they'd still be downright abusive, especially Terra Voltage.

@Slowflake Yeah. It would make the ubers metagame even more offensive and fast paced, and no special wall would be able to take that kind of abuse. 250% boosted Fire moves, and 100% accurate 200% boosted Thunders. Who wants poached eggs?

This is one of the FEW things I liked about generation three. Since they had so much water, they had enough common sense to make the surfing speed rather fast.

Didn't HATE generation 3, just my least favorite.

Zoroarks illusion is going to be annoying.

1) Your technically not sending out Zoroark because its taking the form of whatever u have as second in ur party.

2) Lets say ur party goes like this - Zoroark, Paras(HM Slave) and Zoroark was level lets say 90. People would be like : "HAHA U NOOB U HAVE A LEVEL 90 PARAS!"
