wait, where does the -9 come from x squared -9X + 20?? you say straight multiplication, but nothing there multiplies to 9....5 and 4 add to 9, its that where it comes from???
@governergusgus the -9 seems to be a mistake. Because when he wrote -(-4) he confused himself. Really, that should have been written as (x-5)(x+4)(x-1) in which case you would get x^2 -x - 20 (x-1)..not x^2-9x+20..He just forgot that it was -(-4) instead of -(4). Hope that clears things up!
