10:17 Dot your Ps and Qs??? That must be Canadian letters, eh! haha
Great videos, I will probably start my schooling in the beginning of January. So hopefully these vids will give me a little prior knowledge of what the heck is going on..
Hey man. Good work. Here in europe, it is very different to the US. We using cards, like a Visa or Mastercard, and a digital "Log-Book" ( it is build in in the truck or bus) that write down the time for driving (only 9 hours legal) , on duty, waitig (for empty or some thing) or break on the real time. And it's writing down also the Speed...
This is a great tutorial. And I've still got one more episode to go. I'd always thought the total miles driven was for the recap. I'm learning all kinds of new stuff.
What if the company makes you sit at a truck stop all day? What do you do, just record sleeper birth and on duty not driving? or do I just not fill out my daily sheet at all? Please reply!! :-) Thanks!!
yet another great tutorial vid Sean. It was a MASSIVE pain in the ass filling out my logs for the first couple weeks then I got a few insider tips on filling it out easier.
hey eskimo. good tutorial. i agree with you on the signature part,i always wait til the end of the day also. looking forward to the next vid. be safe out there!!! oh btw, i like your shirt.
i think your tutorial videos are turning out great eskimo. i am a lil dissappointed though. i was hopin you wer gonna pass out some crayons and colorin books:) take care sean
Yeah, they're starting. When I was at Arrow, they were integrating a system in (that computer in the shifting video) To bad they will still blame drivers for being over hrs... even tho they dispartch the crap!
What kills me is driving for oilfield service companies - you'll max out on hours idling while the operators run the job. 'On-schedule' jobs just don't happen - you have to run two books just to make it home at the end of the day.
@ blacklincoln88
1 divided by 60 equals 0.01666667 then multiply it by 15 (minutes)which equal out to 0.25 same rule is applied to 30 minute or even 45 min.
15 min= .25
30 min= .5
45 min= .75
:D

Signing your log book...how it was explained to me, you sign it when you start your day saying everything you have marked to that point is true.
darrenhol 2 years ago
The Aussie log books are heaps easier to sort out, less chance of getting done by the jacks, gotta say I use a fuel card to mark out my lines

Do you fake on your log books? Run two books?

I don't think so, Sean seems like a truck honest truck.

I dunno, dude - sometimes there's just no way around it. Can't help it if the bacon comes from a company that expects the impossible.

10-4 on that brother, There always wanting the load the second they order it.

Neither. The only time I was forced to run unlawfully, the company paid fines, and I still didn't run off the laws
