I didn't even say they are romanians I think I did mention tht they ARE NOT romanians, and I said that some people MISTAKEN them for being romanians, so please read twice before you make a statement and yes I agree some of them are very nice and not like others :)
Yea I know because back then Romania was know as Valahia or Vlachia, but nowadays we call them Rromi and romani means rome as in roman people, that ofc without the diacriticals in the word "romani"
@MsYume13 You can call them Rromi and romani all you want, but their origin is actually Pakistan or India. The Romanians do have Roman lineage. The gypsies only hold Romanian citizenship. Some of them are nice.
The name from Romani comes indeed from Rome, because that's where the nomadic gypsy populations arrived first, or that's the association that was made then (the same with Egypt, right?). By Rome it was meant the lands of the Emperor of second Rome, what we now know as the Byzantine Empire.
You understand this was the time when modern day Romanians were simply Vlachs, right?
Ok,I've been reading most of the comments about romanians and gipsies.First of all gypsies are not "Romani" as you all say they are called by romanians Rromi or Rromes in english,so you saying they are "romani" would mean you say they are "romans" cus that is what it actually means.Second of all the Rromes are not even Romanians they are a nomad population that traveled from place to place during time and settled in Romania a long time ago.
This feels as if it's the spiritual successor to the I Never Woke Up In Handcuffs Before track from the first movie. Both extremely fast-paced and duration is always within one minute and 40-60 seconds.
@dancaustefan umm the association is made because ur accestors enslaved them when they arrived in europe from persia and northern india, if any culture has had the most impact on roma(gypsie) culture it would be romanian
sorry to disappoint you guys but this IS possible to play... have you ever heard or saw Gypsies playing music? there are quite something... and also gypsies that played some the Roma parts were from Slovakia from a city called Kokava nad Rimavicou :-PP....
Was this the song where Sherlock had just met Madam Simza and Watson was playing cards... when they were running through the building fighting the big dude?
Another clarification: Romanians are of latin/roman (as in roman empire) descent and Gypsies, who are also called "Romani" (nothing to do with Romania!) are originally from India. They were a nomadic people who settled all over Europe. They have their own musical styles, tinted by the folk of the country they settled in. Although I have nothing against nice, law-abiding Gypsies, as a Romanian, I'm sick of being confused with them because of the sociologic and geographic ignorance of people!
just to clarify: even though it is supposedly played by a gypsy band, in a more gypsy-like style, the tune is Romanian and it's called "Hora ca la caval".
The tune has also been recorded by Gheorghe Zamfir on the pan flute
at first i tried to google some sheet music, but i laughed and realized that it was time for some by ear learning :)
the violinist was very good (as expected, most virtuostic musicians are violinists/pianists), but the kudos to the clarinetist for being able to keep up... it's really difficult finding a *good* clarinet player who can handle eastern european stuff
@246trinitrotoluene You do know that it is all programmed right? Hans Zimmer has a library worth over $300,000 of just samples of many different instruments playing every note in almost every possible way.
perhaps it is, but it's not like this is impossible to play.
i've played with extremely talented musicians before stuff just like this.
I know all about music samples and composition software, but it is not unlikely that he found a group while travelling in europe to play this for him.
I read an article about Zimmer going to Slovakia to a dirty gypsy colony...full of naive thoughts. I with he knew their true nature...thank god I'm not Romanian, because it must be terrible to be associated with these dirty, stealing, murderous monsters.

@willbx000 it`s not true. gypsies came in romania and they were used as slaves.. when the comunists, came they were free and did what they knew best... the idea is that our music is special.. try to search on youtube maria ciobanu and see what romanian music is like.

@GimmeSomeGreen I was wrong about the music being the same, but actually, the gypsy were captured during a war, made into slaves. It was liberalists that came and as the civilized world began to abolish its slavery, the intelligentsia of the Romanian country began to let free of their slaves. The music, however, was pretty close. Romanian music did influence gypsy music, but also it was a number of other countries that did the same such as Czech, Spanish, Slavic, Trukish, etc.

Hans Zimmer traveled to Bratislav ,Slovacia to get some musicians to play this song and took them to a studio in Viena . Intro of the song is epic!!!!

@Taedran romani is different that romanian.. just think...
they took this name just so they can be confused with the romanians,m so that they get romanian papers and so that they could feel like they belong to a place. jst search their history. you`ll see
@Taedran actually, the gypsy were captured during a war, made into slaves.
