  • beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats the motivation song from frodo and sam to walk into morder as fast as hell.

    they took 4 hours O.o

  • Can someone direct me to more genre of music because I am madly inlove with it and would like to spoon with is in some way

  • Proud to be Romanian :D

  • And the gypsy music got epic in Sherlock Holmes. In my country i hate it. But i loved it in this movie.

  • Love the movie, love the soundtrack, love Holmes and Watson dancing hahaha

  • this is so good! It brings a smile to my face every time:-D

  • Romania!

  • And you've been calling gypsies idiots? hehe.

  • I can't stop listening this amazing piece of art. The violin is so damm fantastic.

makes me wanna dance as a maniac.

  • I wish people would stop arguing over semantics and just bloody well enjoy the song!!!!!!!!!

  • esta cancion me encantaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hans Zimmer STOP please ..... *ironic*

  • I didn't even say they are romanians I think I did mention tht they ARE NOT romanians, and I said that some people MISTAKEN them for being romanians, so please read twice before you make a statement and yes I agree some of them are very nice and not like others :)

  • Yea I know because back then Romania was know as Valahia or Vlachia, but nowadays we call them Rromi and romani means rome as in roman people, that ofc without the diacriticals in the word "romani"

  • @MsYume13 You can call them Rromi and romani all you want, but their origin is actually Pakistan or India. The Romanians do have Roman lineage. The gypsies only hold Romanian citizenship. Some of them are nice.

  • @blackama and some are basterds and we hate them :)

  • The name from Romani comes indeed from Rome, because that's where the nomadic gypsy populations arrived first, or that's the association that was made then (the same with Egypt, right?). By Rome it was meant the lands of the Emperor of second Rome, what we now know as the Byzantine Empire.

You understand this was the time when modern day Romanians were simply Vlachs, right?

  • Ok,I've been reading most of the comments about romanians and gipsies.First of all gypsies are not "Romani" as you all say they are called by romanians Rromi or Rromes in english,so you saying they are "romani" would mean you say they are "romans" cus that is what it actually means.Second of all the Rromes are not even Romanians they are a nomad population that traveled from place to place during time and settled in Romania a long time ago.

  • Where can i get the sheet music for violin?!!!

  • @PLOPALOPALOP WTF!

  • I AM SHERLOCKED !!!!

  • THE END ?

  • /watch?v=Maj0XurEIIo

  • Don't let these gypsies make you drink. Don't dance. You know what happens when you dance.Haha classic Robert Downey Jr.

  • for once and for all. its an romanian folklore, played by slovenian gypsies

  • @almexB

And yet, wrong again. Roma folklore played by Slovakian (not Slovenian) gypsies

  • @almexB Again someone who is mixing Slovakia and Slovenia - These gypsies are from Kokava in Slovakia,,,,

  • Big love from Hungary! this kind of music is an important treasure of middle-europe

  • This feels as if it's the spiritual successor to the I Never Woke Up In Handcuffs Before track from the first movie. Both extremely fast-paced and duration is always within one minute and 40-60 seconds.

  • toti idiotii care au impresia ca asta e melodie specific romaneasca ar trebui sa-si dea seama de nivelul ridicat de prostie de care dau dovada

  • actually Slovak gypsies play this. Its not realy romanian its also slovak folklore a litlle bit :)

  • @Bhagawann And it's also hungarian. Actually, the whole Middle-Europe, I think.

  • melodia este super, hans zimmer genial, filmul foarte bun, dar ma cam deranjeaza ca toata lumea ne asociaza cu tiganii...plm

  • Holmes : Whatever you do, never drink with the gypsies...

Watson : *ok, i get your message*

Holmes : GLUG GLUG GLUG *drinks*

    Watson : WTF....

    Music starts.....

  • Can't stop listening to this song. Makes me dance like an idiot every time XD

  • @Digipup4life hehe me too.

  • @Digipup4life Watson, whatever you do, don't let these gypsies make you dance.

  • @Digipup4life dude i walk in motion to this then run ... outside ... infront of people

  • amazing!!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=D-psoAKYfKw

  • @vvvenusss03 the inspiration

  • Hans Zimmer = Genius

  • sorry to disappoint you guys but this IS possible to play... have you ever heard or saw Gypsies playing music? there are quite something... and also gypsies that played some the Roma parts were from Slovakia from a city called Kokava nad Rimavicou :-PP....

  • just try to type Gypsi Devils (in slovak Cigánski Diabli) - Gypsy violin and you ll see it is possible :-)

  • and the name of Gypsi Band is Sendreiovci :-)

  • and by the way, this recording is played back a semitone too high. in the movie it is played at original pitch.

  • Another clarification: Romanians are of latin/roman (as in roman empire) descent and Gypsies, who are also called "Romani" (nothing to do with Romania!) are originally from India. They were a nomadic people who settled all over Europe. They have their own musical styles, tinted by the folk of the country they settled in. Although I have nothing against nice, law-abiding Gypsies, as a Romanian, I'm sick of being confused with them because of the sociologic and geographic ignorance of people!

  • just to clarify: even though it is supposedly played by a gypsy band, in a more gypsy-like style, the tune is Romanian and it's called "Hora ca la caval".

The tune has also been recorded by Gheorghe Zamfir on the pan flute

  • @TheSilverpaw ti-as da multe voturi sa vada lumea ce ai spus. :)

  • @TheSilverpaw thank you sooooooooooooooooo much! i've been trying to find this song on sheet music for the longest time! i love you!

  • im no holmes, but i guess you are holding a mouse.

  • @shapeshifter000 You are false. My computer has a trackpad, dear Watson.

  • at first i tried to google some sheet music, but i laughed and realized that it was time for some by ear learning :)

the violinist was very good (as expected, most virtuostic musicians are violinists/pianists), but the kudos to the clarinetist for being able to keep up... it's really difficult finding a *good* clarinet player who can handle eastern european stuff

  • @246trinitrotoluene You do know that it is all programmed right? Hans Zimmer has a library worth over $300,000 of just samples of many different instruments playing every note in almost every possible way.

  • @wallhacksanyone

perhaps it is, but it's not like this is impossible to play.

i've played with extremely talented musicians before stuff just like this.

I know all about music samples and composition software, but it is not unlikely that he found a group while travelling in europe to play this for him.

  • This song gave me a headache, but I'm still listening to it nonetheless!

  • not romanian*

  • this is rommanian music not riomanian

  • Lol. I thought his hat was his nose, while his nose was his upper lip. Imagine and lol. :D

  • After the film, everyone danced out of the cinema :)

  • @RobertoMoreno94 So it was good?

  • @Spalooley Yeah!

  • Nu ar trebui să fiţi mândri că sunteţi români din cauza melodiei ăsteia, având in vedere ritmul ei, care are tentă ţigănească.

  • gypsies....

  • I dare anyone to listen and not dance....

  • @DarkReAper108 challenge completed.

  • Hans Zimmer had a bit too much sugar... Masterpiece!

  • I'm seeing this movie friday! can't wait:)

  • I love you Hans !

  • I read an article about Zimmer going to Slovakia to a dirty gypsy colony...full of naive thoughts. I with he knew their true nature...thank god I'm not Romanian, because it must be terrible to be associated with these dirty, stealing, murderous monsters.

  • @EnLugal my friend not all of them are bad ... just like the World is not black and white ... I know some Gypsies that are better people than the "white" ones (you would be supried how easily nongypsy people steal, lie and kill!) ... and to be honest it is not very nice to call a human being a monster :-) ... we are all equall if you havent realised yet

  • I want this as my ringtone.

  • thats not romanian, bust gypsy music...

  • @tauricko gypsy music and romanian music is the same. In history, gypsy were more prominent in Romania and it influenced their music.

  • @willbx000 it`s not true. gypsies came in romania and they were used as slaves.. when the comunists, came they were free and did what they knew best... the idea is that our music is special.. try to search on youtube maria ciobanu and see what romanian music is like.

  • @willbx000 the gypsies tried to make a living by singing and playing music at romanian parties and so they made a different kind of music that was supposed to be liked by everyone. so they made their music to sound more like romanian music. you should read more about a topic before you speak.

  • @GimmeSomeGreen I was wrong about the music being the same, but actually, the gypsy were captured during a war, made into slaves. It was liberalists that came and as the civilized world began to abolish its slavery, the intelligentsia of the Romanian country began to let free of their slaves. The music, however, was pretty close. Romanian music did influence gypsy music, but also it was a number of other countries that did the same such as Czech, Spanish, Slavic, Trukish, etc.

  • @willbx000OtherClarification:Romanians are of latin/roman (as in RomanEmpire) descent and Gypsies, who are also called "Romani" (nothing to do with Romania!) are originally from India. They were a nomadic people who settled all over Europe. They have their own musical styles, tinted by the folk of the country they settled in. • @willbx000

And look what a person said in a comment to the same vid.. : I read an article about Zimmer going to Slovakia to a dirty gypsy colony...full of naive thoughts. I with he knew their true nature...thank god I'm not Romanian, because it must be terrible to be associated with these dirty, stealing, murderous monsters.

    EnLugal 4 weeks ago

it`s sad that people just say that we all are dirty gypsyes and that all we do is stealing.

  • @GimmeSomeGreen At this point, you ignore it. I hear nigger and spic tosseda around like it's water and I just let the anger just go in one ear and out the other. Ignorance is the plight of many people at times. Ignore him, he'll leave.

  • @willbx000 didn't gypsies come from Afghanistan?

  • @Mugetsui yea but i dont get it why they stopped in ur country... and why they are still there... but wtf the song makes me proud!

  • Zimmer has done it again (despite this being more Roma than Romanian)

  • Sherlock was dancing so sexy ;o

  • this is simply wondrous!!!

  • Of, Hans... cum te-ai stricat de cap...

  • Hans Zimmer traveled to Bratislav ,Slovacia to get some musicians to play this song and took them to a studio in Viena . Intro of the song is epic!!!!

  • this is not 100 % romanian music.....romania's national specific songs sound differently....this song is more like a gipsy and balkan type

  • @BaByAnGeLiCaNfLy wtf??! i think u don;t know Romania, the gipsys playing to accordion not violon and another, shut up if u don't know the culture! this is fiddler music specify Romania

  • @deltorro02 yes, i agree that the violin is a Romanian element, but the others are not very close..... and I know Romania a little, because I'm from Moldova and I've been there quite a few times.... L-)

  • @BaByAnGeLiCaNfLy i think u donl;t know at all, Romania..

  • @BaByAnGeLiCaNfLy Assuming you're joking, because Gipsies are also known as "Romani"

  • @Taedran I'm not joking. This is not romanian type of music. And "romani" is not the same as "romanian"...

  • @Taedran romani is different that romanian.. just think...

they took this name just so they can be confused with the romanians,m so that they get romanian papers and so that they could feel like they belong to a place. jst search their history. you`ll see

  • Fantastic!! I adore romanian music!

  • Hanz Zimmer rocks !

  • Thank you Hans Zimmer from Romania!

  • hans zimmer is a genius

  • proud to be romanian.

  • @andreeasagittarius el to cigan ili rumun nekontam
