Too bad it's not faster ? Any singer knows that slower means showing off more vocal control and breath control.

If you want to hear it done quickly you should probably look for the violin version by Paganini.

This was a LOVE song: so, what's wrong with slow ? Quickies are never nice, and almost always selfish. LOL !

I adore her. She's my inspiration. I'm a violinist and will use her phrasing in my playing of the Paganini version. For my tastes, her tempo makes total sense of this piece.

@DickTheFiddler You are right, it is a love aria and faster isn't better but sorry here seems a "nenia", an Italian very slow song to sleep the children. Anyway Montserrat is molto brava especially in the variations.
