If you want CFW and your above 3.55, you would need a hardware flasher.

@umelkau did you put in a legit ps3 game disc in? doesn't matter what game, as long as the ps3 has a game disc to recognize. i think Then try gaia and launch the game. click the disc in the xmb now, it should now be the game u selected. probably get the latest gaia too. auto lv2 patches it or something

@brainiestben in no way do i know this to be accurate, but i have the same problem and think i know the answer. right b4 the system searches for the update on your flashdrive it says something along the lines of "insert usb storage device that contains update 3.60 or later". Right now im running 3.60 and im assuming since im trying to install 3.55 its showing up corrupt since 3.55 is not a "later" version. I could be wrong, but I believe this is why. If anyone else knows for sure please reply.

i create folder GAMEZ and put BLUS30116 (or any other file) and burn that on my dvd.

after that gaia manager couldn`t read it,and it was shown that dvd has 0.00GB

Did u make a GAMEZ folder. Just transfer the BLESXXXXX folder into GAMEZ folder.

Run lv2 patcher, open gaia and select game.

i installed the original 3.55 firmware ( i had 3.41) before, it worked but i still have my old homebrew there in a folder (called unknown).. any way i can delete those? i tried to remove that old backup manager but it didnt work

I followed these instructions on my fat 60gb PS3 and it worked fine but I have a 120gb Slim model now (CECH-2504A) and I just can't get the back ups working, everytime I run a back up using back up manager it freezes (black screen)...I don't know what to do :(...also in Multiman it says "Multiman Cannot enable BD-ROM emulator. Functionality may be restricted".

Nah I always ran the patcher first or used a BM with the patcher, anyway I don't have a problem anymore I had to fix permissions for the games with a certain .pkg file.

i installed the wutangzra cfw 3.55 on my slim 3.41fw ps3 ,did the same steps as the chris told in his video...i successfully made a back up of fifa 2011 n also played it without any prob but now i am facing a bit problem,when i try to run the LV patch before the GAIA manager it doesn't work instead it hangs my ps3..nothing happens just a blue screen is shown,then i have to unplug the power and start it again....though sometimes it runs fine...plz tell me what's the prob?can i go back to OFW
