  • ya obv not. god must have gifted you with an arm with a build in gauge for torquing bolts. and fingers precision enough to open pistons rings with your finger nails. dude who are you kidding you cannot build an engine with a $17 dollar socket set. until i see this i consider it impossible to build a reliable engine with a $17 dollar socket set. ask any reputable engine build which i'm not going to say i am because i have no way of proving it. but i know for a fact what you stated is impossible.

  • lol. I was mostly trolling. I know you need more tools. ESPECIALLY, if you want to make perfect. Bearings have to be within tolerance, valves need to be seated properly, etc etc. You know the drill, that's why you called me out on what I said.

    But, to do a decent build, not a perfect one, you don't need many tools or much time.

  • 400+ on a turbo is like 275 all motor because the all motor vehicles have flatter torque curves than turbo vehicles that 1. struggle to launch and 2.  struggle to keep tires from spinning even in the powerband because the torque is so disproportionate. Turbo - peaky power. all motor = smoother flatter power. In the end, all this means is that the All motor car is pulling sooner and easier to maintain accelleration.

  • +1, And the big difference in a 10.5 NA car, which is amazing for a 4 clynder, and a 10.5 in a turbo car is the trap speed. It will be around the 140 range in a turbo FWD because of traction issues.

  • Thanks for the comments guys. In this video the car weighed 2040lbs with driver and it is a k24...it does not make 390hp im not sure where you heard that. It made 345hp to the wheels on a stock crank yes

  • If you dont have respect for a Naturally aspirated 4cyl that is capable of going 130mph in the 1/4 while still maintaining all the fatory glass and has an interior , then you shouldnt call yourself a Car enthusiast.

  • All i know is my hatch with me in it. spare tire, back seats weighs 2250 at the weigh station. thats a 95 cx hatch. so ya..... tim grey is a skinny person in a full gutted hatch. proly down to 1900-2000 Lb mark....

  • I dunno about that. Those cars are stripped down to a shell when raced like that. My Saturn weighs 2200. A civic probably pretty close to that, stock. You KNOW they stripped all interior and every loose piece they could from that car. It could be closer to 1,000 Lbs.

  • The heaviest Civic's are just now getting to 2300 to 2400 Lbs or so. The popular mid 90's hatch are barely 2,000 Lbs. Full trim. I've seen some fast ones at the race track. They are gutten like a mo fo. They may not be down to 1,000 lbs, but they are in the mid 1,000 range. One seat. No door panels. Everything you can think of is gutted. It's a fast car yes, real fast. But HP to Weight ratio helps.

  • uhm my EK weighs almost 2500lbs and its a 98....most EGs are 2200-2400 lbs...look it up..I bet that car weighs between 1850-2050 lbs if fully stripped

  • Well you appear to be correct. 2300 - 2400 seems to be the weight of an EK in a search. But I found a spec site that listed mid 90's hatches at 2,000 to 2,100. Maybe it was wrong or different than an EK or whatever. I am no Civic expert.

    I think the track cars get more stripped out than that though. Still. 2,000 Lbs is light as fuck. 6,000 Lb Domestic Turbo Diesels are getting into the 10 second 1/4 with stock blocks and some mods. Holy shit! A BRICK doing 10 seconds! AMERICAN POWER!!!
