No joke....this scene right here is where I remember declaring this the best thing I have ever watched and what got me obsessed with all things HYD :)

This made me cry like nothing else (and the rain breakup scene). I remember saying "FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU SHANCAI YOU DON'T DESERVE HIM!" but the ending made the reunion all the more sweet. Props to the Taiwanese for not cheating on the manga, haha! :P

i think that Meteor Garden did capture all the essential heartbreaking, funny and romantic scenes in the manga. :) for someone like me who has cried reading the manga, this adaptation, if i may say so is the closest we can get to the emotional and romantic elements of the story. the actors played out their roles pretty well. for me, the rain scene was portrayed here so well. barbie's and jerry's acting were a perfect ten. in the korean version, i loved the pool scene. :) tearjerkers <3

I remember first watching this and thinking "FUCK YOU SHANCAI!!!! YOU DON'T DESERVE HIM YOU UNGRATEFUL BITCH!!!!!!!!!" (and I read other comments like that) and when she stood in front of him I just started to cry...this version made me cry more than any other version I've watched.

I know some hate the length but they portrayed Shancai's loneliness so amazingly and I bawled my eyes out repeatedly. Especially in the 2nd one.

Okay, Boys Over Flowers and Hana Yori Dango are great. I'll give them that. But there's something about Meteor Garden that sets it apart from the other adaptations. I can actually FEEL the depth of Dao Ming Si's passion as he said those words to Shan Cai. Jerry and Barbie didn't just say their lines from the script; it's as if they really ARE Dao Ming Si (or Tsukasa Domyouji/ Goo Jun Pyo) and Shan Cai (Makino Tsukushi/Jan Di).

yes, all the other versions were more extravagant but meteor garden gave us more than what the eye can see. every scene was so perfect that it touches the hearts of those who watch it. no offense meant but, the other versions fail to really reach out to their audience. the actors are nice to look at but they lack the emotion required for the scenes.
