  • 2:40 I imagine this as Illidan's lament resonating throughout the valley.

  • BC was the best, every zone had a unique feel to it especially shadowmoon. the eerieness and evil stirring in the cold dark distance.

  • Even the Soundtrack of TBC was just brilliant...

  • Just flying into this zone was one of the most epic gaming experiences i've had

  • Netherwing grinding=RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE

  • It has a native american feel to it. Haunting. Love it and the area in-game.

  • Grinding for my Netherdragon... Totally worth all those hours.

  • The zone that made pickpocketing a deathsport.

  • is it possible to actually download this track along with other tracks unavailable on the official soundtracks?

    thanks

  • @tonikminor google keepvid

  • There is nothing else like this music in the game. No zone music can put me in such a mood as SMV

  • Great music, remember just hitting 70 and buying the flying mount for the very first time, then raiding karazhan etc, then doing heroics... good times.

  • I hated this zone. All the lvl 70s just ganking while waiting for the raid to star. Of course you did the exact same thing once you hit 70 but god damn it, pain in the ass nonetheless xD.

  • The Burning Crusade... Simply the best!

  • Whenever im somewhere in the outlands or Northrend, I sometimes forget what im doing, so I just start jammin to these tunes. Now, this is music :D

  • Please, does anyone knows where I can find music which is playing inside of Warden's cage where are Ashtongue and Akama resides..?

  • TBC is by far the most impressive expansion ever the music, raids, tactics just amazing instead of WOTLK crap etc

  • the music can be best described as post-apocolyptic

  • Imagine u r travelling in space for unimaginable time and distance and then u see outland - the weird not logical flying in space lands which to me have the best atmosphere in a game... I can't remember another game like this which has better atmosphere, can u?

  • I miss TBC thmbs up if you want TBC back

  • @Milda47 I think in the next exspanion they should take the fight to the *Real* Burning Legion homeland.

Hopefully that will happen someday :3.

  • Comment removed

  • @Milda47 blizzard should just make a lvl 85 version of the bc instances

  • Those voices all we hear in my opinion are Akama's voices !

The sorrows of Akama ! How Their once beautiful land had turned into The most demonic...diseased...torn apart...plagued...blighted...corrupted... place in warcraft universe

the first time the corruption came from the Fel orcs and MAGTHERIDON - The lord of outland

but then Illidan came replaced Magtheridon and his slaves with Akama's help and when Illidan become the lord of outland he destroyed it one more time i feel sorry for Akama!

  • Those voices all we hear in my opinion are Akama's voices !

    The sorrows of Akama !

  • 1:38 - 2:25

    2:42 - 4:10

    4:41 - 5:40

    6:06 - 7:15

    9:06 - 9:40

These parts make me meditate...and Shadowmoon FTW, the best territory in Outland.

  • I slightly prefer zul'drak music

  • Wonderful through and through, but the last 30 seconds (9:20 to the end) is what really leaves a mark for me. After the eerie calm comes the heavy, oppressive atmosphere....and when the creepy warbling and the heartbeat drums come back in at the end....it's really something else.

If there was ever a musical moment that captured "the madness of the betrayer," I feel like those 30 seconds must be it. Truly spectacular.

  • Makes me think of the remains of Earth after WW3 ;P, or mass polution, or alien invasion, or whatever. Just imagine being on a desolate world that was once great, listening to this *Cough* Mars *Cough*

  • @thugtastic Mars... so much agree. I honestly believe that there was an ancient civilization that lived there a long, long time ago, but there was a terrible war, so we fled to earth and terraformed it.

  • outland = fucking epic win

  • good timeeees

  • one thing you gotta say about blizzard.. they make some pretty weird gameplay decisions sometimes, but they always know how to make the perfect mood music.

  • possibly the best music in whole WoW

  • @BeelzebubPsyTrance "Imam najvise rate-ovan commentar " .....

  • I love the voices, they sound like Broken Ones. Its really dark, haunting and thick with darkness and despair. I love this music, and the brooding, haunted landscape of Shadowmoon Valley, the infernal rain seen on the sky in the background...pure and simple awesome.

  • dudes, can you tell me more songs with creepy vocals like this? like gregorian chants but evil hehe.

  • how can people complain about blizzards efforts? i think they forget the good stuff and remember only the bad. there was a mountin in this zone that when you flew over it had an excellent bit of music cant remeber what its called tho

  • @abcdefg23226 hand of gul'dan?

  • @SirClarencetheCruel i think so the big one sort of in the middle i used to sit up there and listen to it for a moment in fact i might log on and go check it now :)

  • @abcdefg23226 the hand of gul'dan?

  • this music reminds me of playing doom on the playstation. Then again thats what the ps doom music was.dreadful echoing moans and a dooming overture.

  • 9:09-9:53

  • well, I still have the whole soundtrack ripped somewhere on my external, By now, it must be full 24 to 48 hours of ambient music, and if you cut out all combat music and small orchestral "stingers" you could waste yourself for a full day in nice moody stuff.

BTW check out the Starcraft 2 Music as well, not the official OST, but rip it, you will definitely find something to your liking

  • Crap, also, there is a very sad piece of composition when you enter the alliance base, i think it plays after the first song which is the one i'm trying to find (orchestra sounding one)

  • My life was a hell three years ago and it still hasn't improved much, yet. I remember this music from when I returned from school to my house, dad wasn't home, and me playing WoW in Shadowmoon Valley... and 2 years later I got a Netherdrake... One my favourite zones.

  • Great one! Thanks for uploading.

    Stonex

  • this is powerful stuff icecrown's music is just anoyying

  • I loved this zone so much, I stayed here until 71 on my hunter lol. Some of the best dark ambient music I've ever heard.

  • Hm, this sounds a bit like Anarchy Online

  • This remembers me when i searched members for the quest with Uvuros ... I still love the burning crusade.

  • 3:48-3:53 vocals

  • this track is amazing, the vocals and atmosphere and how they invoke the feelings of desolation and destruction that fit this zone perfectly. Guys like Russell Brower, Derek Duke, Matt Uelmen who have written for WoW and other blizzard games do not get enough credit for their talent. This is real music, not the manufactured pop music you hear on the radio. Music that can make you feel something without words. Now that takes talent.

  • @timbo81 Yes it does, these guys no not get noticed at all. They are problably one of the best new age writers, and yet, they only get 30-40k views

  • @timbo81 Could not agree more! But I notice that I dont pay much attention to the music in-game. First when I got to YouTube and listened to them, I realized how great they are.

  • @timbo81 No, they don't get enough recognition. WoW music is THE best video game music I've ever heard, and can easily compete with movies.

  • @timbo81

Cataclysm is too instrumental orchestral type of music. I wish they would consider how WoW is a fantasy world, and that soundtracks such as this put more emphasis on emotions and atmosphere of the specific zone. Its so important infact that I never could enjoy Cataclysm 100%. Its like hearing violins 24/7 World of Warcraft:Cataclym: There will be Violins... lots of em!

  • I think the vocals are what make the song so great

  • This music gives me the creeps, but I liked Shadowmoon Valley a lot. There was this night elf female tied up in the dungeons down there that's really weird looking too.

  • @lunagoose1 lol she deserves it though, if you play wc3, you will know why, she is a bitch

  • The vocals that start at 3:31 are soooo epic. thats my favorite part .

  • @JAL924 Corrupted lava might be more accurate. But yes it will burn you if you touch it if i remember right.

  • @JAL924 i think its Fel Lava from the world being so corrupted by demons. It seems to me like the Outlands are infected and bleeding from terrible wounds.

  • Lonely...hatred...haunted...the darkness from he's blind eyes....this..is so....pure....

  • You can understand from this song Illidans feallings .

  • start reminds me of icecrown

  • It's funny, this zone was so much darker than anything in WotLK, isn't it supposed to be the other way around? Also, my favourite soundtrack in WoW.

  • @Inforcas To be honest, I'm not entirely sure, either. I'd say a mix between some ooze, and slight acid :P.

  • @Inforcas Yeah it's strange.. Icecrown lacks anything as dark and creepy as this, it feels cold for sure :P but theres no real feeling of terror, death, destruction, aguish, anger etc.. like there is with Illidans story and Outland.

  • The music and Shadowmoon Valley remember me home.

  • This is blades edge mountains music, not shadowmoon : /

  • @19ryan76 LOL! it's shadowmoon man!! but there are influences between the two zones!! and the shadwomonn music plays in baldes edge mountains in those fell areas as well!

  • nah imo the thing that wrecked it was patch 2.8, the last one before WoTLK, where they completely revamped the talent tree.. A resilience change just went live which greatly improves damage reduction, but it would be a disaster if they made resilience buff your hp (or stamina for that matter). I recently saw a hunter hanging around in Dala with 40k hp unbuffed, to make resi improve your hp by a % per point would be a HUGE mistake :S

  • Haha owned u spam bots !

  • when i got to outlands for the 1st time i was constantly staring at the sky and stuff...wotlk howling fjord is boring forest-.-

  • This place was a bitch to get around without a flying mount, but I quested there early simply because it's the most atmospheric zone in all of WoW.

  • ppl talk alot of shit about BC, but to be honest i think BC was alot better than lich king in my opinion

  • Shadowmoon Valley was the awesomest place ever in WoW,i just liked to stay on top of the Hand of gul'Dan and hear the music..

  • Luv the Burning Crusade, I would fight demons over undead any day, Demons are epic undead just are not as cool

  • I loved this zone so much. The quests were awesome and this music is great!

  • c'est magnifique.

  • This music takes me back... I've only been playing since december '08, and it took me a while to get to outland, and that was even as a death knight but... Outland. It mattered more. You could look to the sky and you would see infernals raining. Now WoTLK is great, but im asking:

Can WoTLK beat demons raining from the sky?

  • Not at all. Burning Crusade is the best that happened to WoW. I think atleast. I want more legion. Remember? You'r first step into hellfire? How epic that was? Atleast it was for me <3 It was pure awesomeness

  • lvling up through wow, that was my goal. to ride up to the dark portal and step through it. HF did a great job of introducing players to outland

  • @torsnn

Yeah really, you'd think the demons who are on a warpath throughout the universe and created the Scourge would be a bigger threat than Arthas and the undead...

  • @torsnn i hear you, im not saying that tbc was a much better expansion, although pvp was at it's peak in tbc, but northrend is just not as epic im afraid. it was supposed to be just as epic, setting foot in the icy hell of northrend in the pursuit of arthas, and it WAS epic but it doesnt compete with infernals raining from the sky, sky riders fighting over thallmar and forein planets in the distance. stepping through the dark portal was EPIC! i hope i experience that feeling when i face sargeras!

  • I agree. I dont play anymore, WoW was really epic with Tbc but wotlk ruined it all :(((

  • @torsnn

I'm not sure why someone would negative your comment, as its merely your opinion. In some ways I agree with you. I quit WoW a couple of weeks ago and have been surviving so far. Anyways, I don't blame you for liking BC over WoTLK better. As I've posted above, along with aboymadeofweed, stepping through the Dark Portal was EPIC. Hellfire was great. We'll see what cataclysm is like, I guess. May go back in the summer.

  • I agree, but I must say northrend looks more beautiful than outland anyway, so that makes it a bit more okay :)

  • @eearie

I remember first coming to the Howling Fjord and being completely awestruck. I had to upgrade my RAM on my laptop to fully enjoy it, and am glad I did.

But I have to say that Outland is pretty cool. My favourite (Canadian spelling) place was Hellfire Peninsula, personally. I just LOVED walking through the Dark Portal into HP with the aura of chaos and cataclysm all around me. Nagrand was good too. Hated BEM and zangarmarsh.

  • i totally agree, i only started playing in april, but i like outland alot more then northrend, Northrend ofc has it's nice points too, I just got one of my chars to northrend again, but i really enjoyed questing in shadowmoon Valley :)

  • @torsnn Yea that expansion was very epic. i remember the excitement of outlands, i still like questing there.

  • I loved the music in this zone, really set the feel of destruction and impending doom of the area.

  • I've been WOW-sober for 16 months, and I'm never going back. I found something better =D But I still love the music, because EVE-Online's music is crap. Go ahead, hate EVE. I like it. ^_^

  • Well, you're still visiting Youtube pages of wow, so youre not entirely sober :) Same ehre tho. Havent played WoW since June. I dont see myself going back to it in the foreseeable future either. But, that doesnt change the fact that I think it's thee best mmorpg Ive ever played....and Ive played alot. Im playing 3 "free to play" mmorpgs that are ok.

  • this music reminds me, questing for the netherwings :) just great!

P.S.: sry for my bad english!

  • Lool i'im playing again and FUCK the life XD

  • haha i know how u feel i quit cuz i was spending waaaay too much time on it

  • this music is absolutely STUNNING. it makes me feel so nostalgic... the track is incredibly inspiring as well. I love to listen to this and draw... it's so great when you're trying to draw a dark monstrous creature or a tortured landscape. (I wonder why? haha)

Thanks for putting this up; now i can listen to one of my favorite TBC songs of all time!

  • Absolutely, I think more than any other area in Outland, Shadowmoon really embodies the tragic story of the Orcs of Draenor and of Draenor itself.

  • This zone was scary as hell, but i loved it all the same. =)

  • 3 months without Worlf of warcraft & i'm missing it :SSSS

i think im gonna play again :/

  • 1 month and a quarter here. I think I'm going nuts and having WoW withdrawal lol.

  • i like the singing in the background

  • When i listen to the music in shadowmoon it reminds of Darth Sion from KOTOR

And when i hear the Icecrown music it reminds me of Darth Nihilus

  • this is my favorite place :)

  • Gives me the creeps.. :(

  • I was more intimidated by my first steps in Shadowmoon than I ever was in any part of Icecrown. This place just oozes with dark atmosphere, a perfect home for the tortured Illidan.

  • @Virgilx711 icecrown really wasnt that scary, cuz its just a load of undead. but my 1st trip to icecrown was flying WAY above all the mobs, so yeah. but undead gets boring after dragonblight, at least with all the wintergarde quests. and guess what? ive never lvled in the plaguelands!

  • OMG Where is the track when it plays that beautiful music when you land in the alliance base in Shadowmoon valley? I don't know how to find it, lol!

  • @Virgilx711 ice crown was just terrible the music did not fit the area

  • @Virgilx711 agrred its perfect for him but BY FAR the most fitting is ice crown i shat myself when the music kicked in and ice is just perfect for Arthas.

  • Shadowmoon HELL!

  • looks like a fel version of Mordor and mount doom

  • Lol. Sounds like LOTR music.

  • The vocals in this make me shiver...

  • sounds like star wars music for the sith. but thats just me. i miss this zone and its music :(

  • Yippie, got a flying mount!

Huh? What you mean I can get dismounted at 30,000 ft? I could like....DIE from that.

Great, get a flying mount and fly 2 ft off the ground. Oh...joy.

  • Noggenfogger and pray ! :P

  • Thank you so much for these videos! I have been dying to find all the music in the game, and you delivered! Thank you so much again!

  • fuckin sweet

  • Comment removed

  • I remember doing quest here, to me the music felt very much like military music.

  • ...and at last to a thunderous applause of music for Illidan.
