  • Ilanit's got so much class in this song, I love it. Her voice, her looks, the melody, everything is perfect no wonder it got ranked so high

  • what a beautiful song and video, makes me feel happy listening to this, and nostalgic, even though I was born long after this song, but I remember listening to this already as a kid when I became a eurovision fan in the early 2000s and I loved this song back then already

these old eurovision songs are so great and they make me happy =)

  • ISRAEL IN HEBREW IS "YASHAR-KEL" WICH MEANS STRIGHT FORWARD TO GOD

    THIS IS NICE !

  • I don't often thumbs up songs that I don't understand the words to. But his is really beautiful :)

  • Israel shines a light upon the nations. Love from the Portugal! :)

  • I LOVE IT ,,,,,,JE VOUS ADMIRE DIEU VOUS BENISSE

  • judaism is as shitty as islam BUT İ LİKE HEBREW SONGS

  • @qsarap Well, if Judaism is shitty, that means that Christianity is also shitty, because Christianity started from Judaism! To remind you that Jesus was Jewish and not Christian... You should have more respect for other people's religion!

  • i love this song though i don't understand what it says

i used to listen to this as a kid and my grandmother loved this before she passed away because her best friend was one of the jews in greece that were taken away from their hourse to the holocaust by the nazi germans that invaded greece in the 40's.

She never saw her best friend again and this song really made her to remember her again.

  • @HellenicGreekBeauty It says: Its half the night and I am still waked, Dreams are comming... It is the silence before the storm, Lets go now... There, there I saw the rainbow in the cloude, There, there the morning come in white. Some where, we will find together the garden, The garden of love. There, there I heard a very old song, There, there is a moon, every night. Some where, we will find together the garden, The garden of love. . . .

  • If she had sung the English version of this she would have won without a doubt. Her voice is very powerful when she sings the English version.

  • My favourite from 1973

  • Already 11 years earlier, in 1962, first Jewish singer attended ESC. She was Marion Rung from Finland with song Tipi-Tii. She sung in Finnish, song is about glad and frolic spring time :)

Marion Rung has been very popular singer in Finland and has performed abroad too. She attended ESC 2nd time at 1973 singing Tom Tom Tom

  • dear Laizlabonita - my democracy does NOT say KILL ! so Fuck YOU with you terrorist friends.

  • rich jew princess

  • Moving.

Lump in my throat - i don't need to know what shes singing - and singing it very well - Ilanit can certainly deliver the goods.

Long live Israel - you're an inspiration, i love you.

  • Europe in the Middle East ! Amazing !

  • what the fuck

  • Wonderful :) God bless Israel. You are the only one democracy in the middle east. God bless you forever and ever.

  • @Laizlabonita

do us a faver and shut the fuck up.

    stinky mouth.

Israel is the only democracy in the middle east and thats a fact.

  • @Laizlabonita Hi, just wanted to tell you that I am from Israel and I had up to here with politics. I love Turkey and I LOVE the Turkish entries to the Eurovision. Well done for the second place this year and I simply love Turkey 1996 and 1983 (Opera!)

  • This is a singer with a rare quality of voice combined with soul and emotions AMAZING

  • It was Israel's moment to shine, mere months after the most horrific palestinian terrorist attack against the Israeli Olympic Wrestling team at Munich, West Germany. While Israel continues to shine until this day, winning world acclaim in movies, medical breakthroughs, scientific breakthroughs and miraculaous, earth-friendly/green inventions, all done by freedom loving, free people in their own land, the fake so-called 'palestinians' continue to bomb civilians wherever and whenever they can.

  • would you shut up and let us enjoy this song!!! :)

  • what a load of wishful thinking. ze lo emet sheata katavtah.

  • love this song ilanit is great israel is the best !!!!!

  • What a great song. Too bad there were no back up singers like on the album version.

  • What´s the name of this singer please ?

  • We know here by the name of ILANIT, but she was born as Hana Drezner. She is one of the most famous Israeli singers, mainly in the late 60's and 70's but even after she is still known for her great voice and charming character.

  • ilanit

  • (1) Halfway through the night and I'm still awake Dreams comes to my threshold It is merely the silence that comes before the strom Let us go now. There, There I saw a rainbow There, There the morning shines in white glare Out there, together we shall find the garden The garden of love. There, there I've heared an old, ancient song There, there the moon shines every night Out there, together we shall find the garden The garden of love.
  • (2) Winds envelopes my house tonight Grabbing it in all directions Beyond the clouds is where we're going Holding hands together. A new day is knocking on my heart's doors tonight And within it, you're approaching. Let us go out and seek the gardens of light blue In thier gates we shall pass. Out there, together we shall find the garden The garden of love. There..
  • great song great decade !!!

    viva Ilanit !

  • This deserved a much higher placing. It is simply gorgeous - a very catchy chorus and fabulous singer!

  • Looked for this song since hearing it on Irish Radio a few weeks back, nice ballad. Might well have won in another year but the competition in '73 produced some other fabulous entries.

    Great voice and presentation.

  • Good idea, they are very good in bed.

  • love ilanit ,israel is the best !!!!!!!!!!

  • she is alive u idiot

  • Kind of looks like a younger Cloris Leachman from the 70's.

ilanit your amazing !!! your my Idol !!!!

  • If I'm not mistaken Nurit Hirsh the composer of this song was the first and

only woman ever to conduct eurovision orchestra doing it twice in 1973

and in 1978 when Israel actually won for the first time with a song she composed.

  • @ronansex

  • do u have a problem with her nose?!?!?!?!

  • wonderful. Top points for Israel.

  • what a debut ... it's no wonder they had won it twice by the end of the decade. Bravo!

  • amaizing! 10 points!

  • I love her presentation ... I don't understand any word of Hebrew but she's able to transmit a lot of things with her voice

  • amazing! well done

  • love this entry, in the days when it was still about singing and music and less about show and props

  • yeah, nowadays all is solved with "body exhibitions" X_X

  • I have liked since '73 this very first Israeli Eurovision song. Marion of Finland (Tom Tom Tom ESC 1973) sang this in Finnish same year.

  • Great song great points and notice the conductor!

  • It's Nurit Hitsh and she was also the composer of the song. She also composed abanibi.

  • great song and whoever said back up singers would have been nice is right. the LP version has back ups on it

  • Pre-op, eh? Now we all know what you like.

  • It was unusual for a debuting country in ESC to get high points from juries. Ey Sham from Israel

was an exception. It landed fourth after Luxemburg, Spain, and U.K.

Really nice song but the Israelis could beat Luxemburg, if they sent a back up singers in 1973.

Graet Song!

  • Together with Erest Tu, this debut song from Israel are my favorites from 1973.
