All systems have problems. It is the greedy deals with cable companies that is the problem. You on Directv you can't get Versus anymore which has the Tour de France and Hockey and some other sports like college football. Not one system has all channels or a fair pricing system.

Just to add I was with Dish network from 1997 toll 2004 and they hosed us so we had no choice but to go back to Time Warner then they hosed us too so we are stuck. AT&T u-Verse might be the next place I head, but they suck too. Direct tv wouldn't be any better than Dish. The Dish equipment kept failing then the pricing packages changed and I had to pay more get channels back that were moved to a new package. When it rained always lost signal too. And payed more to view on various tvs.

The national feeds of local channels were offered free when I joined (ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, even KTLA and WB/UPN and WGN) Dish but then they started making you pay for them and the next thing you know they raise the price and finally they don't offer all the local so by the end I was on rabitt ears watching some independent channels not on the dish system.

Fact, I've had to call DirecTV EVERY billing cycle to get my bill adjusted, because they refuse to automatically subtract my credits. Every bill is $135, when I signed up "under contract" to pay $55 a month. I call them, they complain and whine to me as to why they shouldn't remove the credits, and when I threaten to disconnect they say they have to "Ask a supervisor".

Time warner cable may be free, but I'm only receiving 1/3 of the HD channels that I'm suppose to be receiving. I had their cable guy come out on Monday, and he was a complete moron. He said he had "no idea" what was causing the problem; he said it was probably my tv. Really? My brand new sony tv? Last year when I had HD problems with time warner, it took them "3" months to fix it. So, I have direct tv coming out to install their equipment on 3/13/09. So long Time warner. Update: I now have DirecTV and couldn't be happier. I'm receiving all my HD channels and they look like they're in true HD. The very few HD channels that I was receiving thru time warner were coming in really grainy. So, my advice would be: If you have time warner, switch to DirecTV ASAP.
