this team and the 08 team were virtually the exact same! a great, speedy point guard (felton/lawson), a clutch shooting guard (mccants/ellington), a defensive stopper/role player at small forward (manuel/ginyard), a good role player at the 4 (jawad/deon, although jawad was better) and a dominating big man (may/tyler), not to mention a fabulous 6th man (marvin, danny green)

if anyone says Illinois is better they are jsut plain stupid! all of north carolinas starters averaged more than 11 pts a game, we were in the hardest conference, led the league in assists, led the league in points, and had three all americans. we were 1st in assists that year and yall were like 4th or somehting. we also had a good defense too, we were in the top 15 in steals per game and in the top 30 for opponents field goal%. Illinois wasnt in the top 50 for either of those!!
