My question is why use all these separate programs? Most of the tools seem to overlap. For example, when I was a little less experienced I used illustrator for all logo and vector work and then imported that work to InDesign - then one day I found that many of the tools that I was using Illustrator for such as the Pathfinder toolbox, are in InDesign *also... so do ALL the tools over lap? which ones dont?
How would you do a cover with a partial Title/Nameplate overlap? I see people designing covers in Photoshop-and that makes no sense to me. I was shown a technique that avoids the hard clipping path look some do, but it is not relying on some kind of Photoshop alpha channel ether. How do you do this??
Great tut... thanks!

You didn't explain why you should not create a logo in Photoshop?

The ability to showcase stuff like this is what makes the Internet an indispensable tool for learning. Brilliant!

Very helpful! Not enough people showcase the workflows between applications.
Thanks.
