@mrmjb1960 Patrick's only album with Yes was "Relayer" released in 1974. He left Yes in 1976 and moved to Brazil. He joined The Moody Blues for their Octave tour in 1978. Peace.

Agreed, this song is a Moodies classic by Justin Hayward that is usually ignorned. It's also important because it's one of the last recordings with Mike Pinder on Melletron, even though Patrick Moranz is hown in the video clip.

Well it was a session musician who played it on the album on here it was Ray Thomas doing a poor miming job. Ray always looked lost, if there wasn't a flute solo he was armed with a tamborine and singing backing vocals.
As for Mike Pinder he wasn't really up for the reunion so after the album he wasn't interested in promo work, i do recall them doing a good version of "Nights in white satin" on the Kenny Everett show

Beautiful song, but then again all of their songs are. Is there nothing this amazing group can't do. Just saw them 2 weeks ago and they still are the best rock group ever. Long live The Moody Blues. Love this group so much had their name tattooed on the back of my shoulder.

Somehow the line "Time waits for no one, not even you" crops up in my mind every so often ..... reminding me to make the most of my life and not waste a moment because in a heartbeat, those moments are gone and I won't be able to re-live them again.... Such wise words! They have left an imprint on my memory after all these years.

When the moody blues I dont want to say broke up just separated to do solo albums they said they reached a point when they didnt want to do another moody blues concept album just something differant ...when they got back together they did this .

Well it was a session musician who played it on the album on here it was Ray Thomas doing a poor miming job. Ray always looked lost, if there wasn't a flute solo he was armed with a tamborine and singing backing vocals.
As for Mike Pinder he wasn't really up for the reunion so after the album he wasn't interested in promo work, i do recall them doing a good version of "Nights in white satin" on the Kenny Everett show

Science struggles against its arrival at truth..trying as hard as it can to arrive as slowly as possible...then denying it has finally made it when the train has stopped and the conductor puts down the steps, wipes off the handrail and offers His hand to aid science onto the footstool placed to make the "leap" less shocking, daunting and scary.for science.

I have been looking at moodies all evening ( sad arnt I!) and Justin really is something else. Glad to hear the hairstyle is comming back. My grandsons aged 19 and 14 have short hair.I think I am stuck in the hippie era.

The Moody Blues are the greatest British band of all time. They go straight to the core of what it means to be human. And Justin, John, Graeme,Ray and (Michael, Patrick) are extremely talented musicians. They belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Hayward definitely took the Moody Blues in a whole new direction when he landed in '66..was it? Extreme talent along with the rest of the group.

What I would give to meet him! My comment was purely to express how deeply this song touches the heart. Whether sad or happy, songs hit us so deeply. Todayfaith: if you could arrange a meeting between us, I would be forever grateful. I was a lonely single girl who would listen to that song and get lost in the lyrics. It was so meaningful to me. That is why I looked for it on Youtube - these many years later.
