One also has to consider that every view point is personal. When we combine it all together, the picture reveals itself. "The one who is least in the kingdom" is supposed to refer to Paul, because he who teaches against the Torah is least in the kingdom of heaven.
Paul tries to get back at James by having him called "James the Lesser".
This Lesser/Least and Greater/Great/Greatest language goes back and forth between the Torah-keepers and Paul's pro-Roman party.
