One of the best games I have ever played. This game is very under rated. It belongs in the elite class of rpg and elite over all games such as a common house hold name as Mario, Sonic, or Zelda. I can remember buying this game at a video game store called Babbages at the time. This game has great music, great characters, great plot! I'm glad I never sold the game. I still own the original and my dreamcast. Fighting air pirates and Ninjas! EPIC. Enough said.

@spectrevampire Well I can answer that one. Quality on the dreamcast one was better. The gamecube one had to reduce music quality because they wanted to cram it all on one disc and with the changes to texture polygons and reduced loading time/saving time yeah it makes sense. (Sorta a jumbled post owo)

i love the music in this game but i do feel the game itself is a bit over rated i mean its meant to be a dreamcast game and it looks like an n64 game and i felt it was a very generic JRPG

i found a copy on ebay a while back and i never beat the game due to boredom which is a shame as i wanted to like it but it all felt a bit seen that done that

I remember when i bought this for my DC and mg GC. When I got it for my GC, I went through many Sobe Dragonfruit bottles as I plowed through the game. One of the most epic games I've ever played. My top 3 games are: Phantasy Star Online I & II, SKies of Arcadia, and Tales of Symphonia.

I always thought this game was underrated. I still play it to this day! I really liked the ship battles. It was a unique change of pace from the random ground battles. I can safely say this is one of the greatest rpg's ever made.

I love this song beyond words. Skies of Arcadia is one of my favorite RPG's to this day. I would have to agree with the earlier poster who mentioned that it had a lot to do with how well the characters were developed. There were just so many subtle nuances that made this game amazing.

Skies of Arcadia stands well above Tales of Symphonia if only because it doesn't draw off of as many anime cliches. The spirit of SoA's story-telling, music, and characters simply puts it in the highest league, alongside games like Chrono Trigger and FF6. ToS is certainly an excellent game, but nothing in it comes close to the epic sweep of SoA's adventure.

I played this game on the gamecube, Originally I wanted to buy Tales of Symphonia, but at the time it barely came out. I was 10 dollars short :(

I don't regret buying SOAL, probably one of my favorites RPG ever. I loved the story line, and the concept of Air pirates was the f****** s**** :D

I loved the combat system and the battleship combat system. This is truly a unique game.

I cant play it anymore which saddens me. it broked :(

Ridiculously epic RPG. I loved all the different characters throughout the game, especially the main cast and then all of the many crew members you could get. It was awesome how your crew members actually followed the story too, they would have new things to say when the plot changed. If you actually talk to them regularly you appreciate their unique and interesting personalities. Attention to details like that really made the game come alive. The music was just one more part of the epicness.

The game had pirates, pirate ninjas, pirate robots, flying ships, wars, the best fashion disasters ever seen except in Ugly Betty, the best sound effects from characters and it had special attacks that took 10 minutes and filled up your screen with proper mental explosions and A FUCKING MOON SLAMMING ON TOP OF YOUR OPPONENT.

Oh and it was a massive, engaging and entertaining RPG fully worth buying.

@shoryukenakuma Both on the Dreamcast and the Gamecube, it was marketed poorly, and most of the Hardcore were snobish to classic style RPGs like SoA. It is one of the best RPG on the GameCube and I still own this game!
