it's currently set to come out Sept. 6-8th , 2011; and I wonder how a MMORTS works? what if one player becomes so powerful that they monopolize the game?

@Xinthose It's so easy to lose its army, and the army population limit helps to make balanced fights.

You buy the game, then afterwards it is free to play. Currently the plan is to release new content through micro-transactions, which you can pay with cash for, or use the in game "influence" that you gain from doing quests and PvP battles. But basically, no it's not a subscription based game.
