  • There is no scientific proof that it is indeed the "genuine Sandaw ( Hairs of Head ) of the Lord Gawdama Buddha". It could well be 8 strands of buffalo hair !

Carbon dating will point us in the right direction !!

  • @SawHinthar1 so what about ur Bible ?there is no scientific proof at all and all are just dreaming out of reality .. ...try to watch on BBC documentary about urs ..disgusting

  • from the air it reminded me of a huge electromagnet structure with many lightning rods

  • i always wonder why know ones steal the jewels but then i remember it would be a horrible and sad thing to do and you can get cursed for life.

  • amazing place, that is why i want to visit myanmar more than thailand

  • I miss Myanmar. I am so eager to visit! Two more years, and I'll be there!

  • This temple is the most magnificent in the world. It is still a 'working temple' and is full of hidden treasures. Lots of magic and alchemists signs and statues. It truly is a life-changing experience. The different temples where people meditate in different techniques. The three magnificent places in the world, Shwedagon Pagoda, Abu Simbel and Angkor Wat! This is number one!

  • wow... wana visist Burma... from Sri Lanka.

  • why don't they use all those gems gold to help feed starving children in India

  • Shame how The Burmese people, the ruling elite military classes have destroyed their own country and stolen all the wealth from their own people..

  • sign of happiness

  • The brutal military regime in Burma/ Myanmar uses the money it earns from package tourism to maintain its stranglehold over the population. This is one of the regimes few sources of income. You can help to destabilise the regime if you deny them this support. Please do not travel in Burma. Foreign travel companies must be held accountable when they encourage foreigners to go to Burma. Please do NOT support these companies. I ask that you contact YouTube and urge them to remove these videos.

  • im going there, cant wait :)

  • @smartmoron that wont work. it never has

  • @datzfast

You're right, I learned that kind of things in the meantime.

All I know is when you visit Myanmar, spend your money at the locals, however booking a trainticket is another story.

Cheers, all the best in 2010

  • what the sucker are you? if tourist should not come to Myanmar, they should fuck your ass. Why u stupid think tourism income goes to Military? how did you survey? If a tourist come to Myanamr, gov. only get visa fee from him/her and other spendings are directly go to local people.

  • @yarzaryeni I'm sorry they take money every time you change your money into local currency- a huge % I believe. Nothing that anyone can do about it. Its true traveling there does support the military but i'm not sure that leaving the country in isolation is the best either.

  • Soo beautiful Temple!

  • Last year people were getting shot there. Nice...

  • I love Myanmar...

  • you must be damn retarded to say it's an anthill...it's a very precious historic and religious place in Myanmar...don't insult without knowing all the facts

  • yah...the ones that did wrong are the military regimes...it's nothing concerned with the pogada...the pogada is 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times more sensible than a nightclub...don't compare such totally different things

  • Really!?!. The huge treasures described in this video could be used to feed, house & help the starving, downtrodden populace of your beautiful country, yet these same treasures are hoisted above out of reach of the praying public whose basic needs could easily be met by a more sensible use of those precious gems. One wonders what the Buddha would think about this. Peace.

  • i was there in '96 during "Visit Myanmar year!" I was the first American many of the Burmese had seen. Shwedegon is truly magical.

  • beautiful one

  • Been there, done that;0)

  • Beautiful
