Not a huge fan of Le Roux, but I've always liked this song and Addicted. LOL, the General Zod on lead vocals comment was pretty funny! Dude has a great voice, though.
@British1500 That's La Roux, Tweedledum! And BTW classic rock is king here so GTFO if you don't like it. We don't like your music or generation. Everything from today just sucks. I don't care if it's La Roux, Justin Bieber, Lady CaCa, Gay's Anatomy or that Twilight bullshit....it all sucks!!!
Long live the old school! Long live the classics!!!
Yeah, Great Band seasoned musicians. Jeff Pollard (Lead Vox and Guitars) left and joined the ministry to escape the rock and roll demons. Can't argue with
his reasoning but he was an amazing artist and missed by many. Tony Haselden (singing lead and playing the strat on this song, went to Nashville and penned a whole bunch of hits. Leon Medica one of the most precise Bass players around still plays with Le Roux and Tab Benoit.
@stratbnder I've been blessed to write with Tony Haselden throughout the last year. He's an extremely gifted musician, and simply one of the best writers this town (Nashville) has ever known. I was born in 1983, and I wish I had been around a few years sooner so I could have really dug into this stuff when it was new. Simply great, great music.
I met Le Roux bassist Leon Medica in 1984 when he came to Okinawa, Japan as part of the USO's "First Airborne Rock and Roll Division" rock show for the troops, featuring Medica; David Jenkins, Cory Lerios and John Pierce from Pablo Cruise; Rich Williams, Phil Ehart and John Elephante of Kansas; Rick Nielsen, Bun E. Carlos and Robin Zander from Cheap Trick; and Patrick Simmons from the Doobie Brothers. All great gentlemen, all great musicians.
Thank you to whomever post this. This is one of my all time favorite songs of the 80's. I was not sure if a video was made to it or not. Classic!!!! I was also thrilled that they included this song on their best of album released a few years ago.
Thank you to whomever post this. This is one of my all time favorite songs of the 80's. I was not sure if a video was made to it or not. Classic!!!! I was also thrilled that they included this song on their best of album released a few years ago.
@sdeisme Louisiana's LeRoux recently released its entire discography on iTunes. Walmart used to have "Bayou Degradable: Best of LA's Le Roux" hits collection available but for some odd reason had it removed. Might wannna check out iTunes.
"Addicted" was a real cool song, but after listening to this one, and Lifeline, it makes it clear why this band dissappeared after 1982. This songs just sound to cheesy. You want 80's soundtrack? Motley Crue, Def Leppard, G&R, AC/DC, Rush, Ozzy, Dokken, Cinderella, Ratt, Poison, Whitesnake, ok get the picture?
@wilx218x ...Ahhh..no..I don't get the picture wilx218x....Le Roux was a POP band with a great song that many people loved in '82. You compare them to a A..Established Rock bands who sold out to crass commercialism in the 80's and lost respect with their orignal fan base in the '70s and B. a bunch of Hair/Makeup/Metal bands with arguably little to no talent. If you don't like Le Roux that's ok, but don't diss them...just grab your wig, makeup kit and Guitar Hero game & relive your 80's glory.
@dorn2100 Correction - LeRoux was a country-rock/southern rock band who deserved better than what they got. They're also far more talented than that bitch who has the nerve & audacity to call herself La Roux. Oh hell they're far better than any of today's crap that's out there now. Rock is rock so you
& wilx218x stop quibbling & long live the classics!
@dorn2100 Le Roux is pure AOR that is sadly lost on even today's classic rock stations (at leaast here in Ohio.) If you wanna see real pop shit then go no further than MTV or VH1 when they play Bieber, Lady CaCa or LA Roux. You & wilx218x need to stop arguing about what's real rock & help us classic rockers take back what's rightfully ours. Fans of LA Roux are taking over this thread. That should never happen. Let's run those snot nosed punks out of here.
Wow,great song! I knew I had this song on a cassette tape,I went digging through them and found it,it's on a K-TEL tape called AFTER HOURS,I got alot of K-TEL tapes, they put alot of different songs on them, all good songs.
Heard them first when I moved to Toronto (1982). Buffalo, NY. had a powerhouse of an FM Station then called "ROCK 102" and they played this song. I had the 45 rpm. 27-28 years later - here it is (the video). WOW!

@bucky468 dude... it was just a joke and it was over a year ago now. Sorry if I offended you or anything. Sheesh though, stop taking everything so personally. Who cares what some random said about a band you're a fan of on youtube? It's not like I said this band was bad or anything, if I gave them a chance I'd probably end up liking them, but honestly, the effort to care is too much. So please go away.
This was definitely a classic song from 1982. I remember it fondly. I was extremely happy when it was put out on CD. I wish they would be their Last Safe Place album on CD instead of just a greatest hits CD.
@darkmarkrammstein Yeah I know what you wanted (let me guess...hmm...LA Roux???) but some people from hell want ice water but they don't get it, too. La Roux's on tour w/Bieber, Maroon 5, Katy Perry & Lady CaCa so find him/her (whatever that thing is) there!! This thread is for fans of REAL music not fabricated insults to what used to be the music industry.
What's so funny about this? B/c it's old & timeless unlike what your crap's gonna end up being...as in gone w/the wind?! Screw LA Roux!
I saw this band back in the early 80's. They were so awesome, better than the headliner, whoever that was. Could someone please post "Bridge of Silence" from these guys as well? Thanks.

Wow! Never knew the band that sang "New Orleans Lady" sang this classic! NO Lady is played once an hour in the Big EZ, but you never hear this one--who do I complain to???
HALLELUJAH! I've waited over 26 years to hear this song; reminds me of having a crush on a beautiful female cheerleader (freshman) while attending Jardine Junior High in Wichita, KS. We went to different high schools but then, she and I graduated in the same class of 1991 from Wichita State University; haven't seen each other since. Hope she's doing wonderful out there. To Mike, please get in touch with me; would love to hear from you soon.

I have been looking for this song for YEARS! Great great song. Wish I had heard it more since 1982, haven't heard it since then, but it has been in my head on and off since then. Thank you so much for posting this!!!
damn!!!! how can i never heard to talk about this artists i am really ignorant ....really great ...i love that an i love the 80's the best songs ever nobody can say the opposite
I remebered snipets from this song, and tried and tried to find it... finally(!) I found it and bought the CD off of Amazon..They only had one used copy, and it was 29.00! But I bought it and love it! Senior year...YEAH!
I still have a copy of the album this was on somewhere. I'm suprised I didnt not wear it out. They had a great song titled "Long Distance Lover" on there. Damn. Brings back memories.
I had this song on a K Tel compelation After Hours great forgotten song of the 80's. Don't remember WBBM FM 96 in Chicago or WLS 94.7 ever playing this though

I have been looking for this song for YEARS! Great great song. Wish I had heard it more since 1982, haven't heard it since then, but it has been in my head on and off since then. Thank you so much for posting this!!!

This was a great song. Acutally their only top 40 hit. New Orleans Lady is a fan favorite, but never cracked the charts. Amazing trivia. The Tuneman

I prefer "Addicted" "Carrie's Gone" and "Get It Right The First Time".

I never thought in a million years, I'd ever hear this song again.
Reminds me of WBEN-FM (Rock 102) Buffalo, NY., that was in my humble opinion, the best Top 40 FM station along the Great Lakes region.
I believe these lads were from Louisiana (New Orleans?). I had the 45.
