  • What a wonderful song! I love it! <3

  • Very good

  • Hmmmm so seductive and sexy... oh my :)

  • *****I love this film & Madonna!*****

  • Oww, I remember visiting these sites and Eva's grave. I even went to her museum with lots of her dresses on display. Memories!

  • We're watching this movie in Spanish class as part of our Argentina culture study; this is by far my favorite song from "Evita"

  • is this sarah brightman?

  • @cwoolcat As the title says, this is Madonna singing. Colonel Peron is played by Jonathan Pryce.

  • @harrietamidala1691 That's her. IMBD knows all!

  • if only getting someone was as easy as singing to them then getting laid, beautiful movie though.

  • the saxophone is the best part!

  • @ix3bumblebeetuna Sounds like Kenny G, doesn't it?

  • @Warrior2God lol not sure if i know kenny g.

  • 2nd Golden Globe...well done Madonna!!

  • From 0:01 to 0:04, was that Billie Piper I spotted?

  • @harrietamidala1691 Yes it is.

  • her voice souns beautiful here

  • so romantic and seductive! love it <3

  • sexy :)

  • i really enjoyed this movie

  • They totally destroyed murdered and killed history right here what a load of CRAP no wonder La Argentina and all of Latin America was appalled by this shitty shit shit work.

  • @20killershot it's a musical, not a fucking history lession!!!

  • if you think that madonna can sing then you haven't heard one recording of any REAL cast of "Evita".

wow i can't believe i'm even responding to this thread---

love to julie the original eva

love to patti the other one <3

AND elena who will carry on the beautiful and epic role!!!!

  • "But when you act, the things you do affect us all; But when you act, you take as away from the squalor of the real world." My favorite lines from this musical. These two lines speak of so much more than they appear to.

  • My favourite song

  • 我好喜歡

  • absolutely beautiful

  • I'd actually be a little bit creeped out if 20 minutes after I said hello someone would be saying "I'd be surprisingly good for you ;)"

  • @AprilSilverWolf I gree, in rel life not good, but in a movie, it can work. I meant agree

  • If only a woman would sing this to me... (instant infatuation)

  • I love this song. Madonna was absolutely PERFECT for the role of Evita.

  • Madonna looks and sounds good here.

  • Peron- "are you here alone

    Eva- "Yes oh yes"

Peron must of had something sticking up in his pants the moment she said that xD

  • Madonna is naturally sensual, no one like her singing this song

  • No country will never understand what Eva and Peron means to us argentinian people. Even for those who hate them, that makes them even more espectacular...

I liked this move even if it has some shitty things about them. But its still sweet and its good to understand how America see the rest of the world...

And "Yes, oh yes" Im peronist, and they will shine always in my heart.

  • best songs and movie!!

  • LOVE THIS ---MADONNA IS PERFECTLY SEDUCTIVE!!!! GREAT SONG!!

  • amazing music - Andrew is something else

  • I love this musical.

  • questo video è stupendo ! (very, very amazing and true)

  • This movie is the proof that Madonna CAN sing. I'm so tired of hearing people saying she's can't...

  • @ stambeccuccio I appreciate you posting this, but out of all those tags at the bottom of the information section there's no mention of the man who wrote this music, Andrew Lloyd Webber. I mean, that's the main reason we're all watching this video right? Of course the scenery is nice and Madonna is very nice to watch, but without the music there would be no video at all. Once again, thanks for posting but please add Mr. Webber to your tags. You'll get more views that way, if that's what u want.

  • @drewper73

ooops! Thank You. I done it!

    I apologize :)

  • @stambeccuccio No, thank you. No apology necessary.

  • If Evita was a whore, what was Peron?

  • @snapewasframed A guy who fucked a whore, lol.

  • LOVELY!!!

  • my daughter name is Evita :))

  • Madonna has a very pleasant voice.

  • 2:32 - 3:00 = amazing

  • im from argentina, evita was a whore ¬¬...

  • 多麼美而值得的空間

  • She knew what she was... onto a good thng.... relied on someones love and exploited it...

  • Imagine that, a girl saying "I'd be surprisingly good for you" to you. Heh, lucky for Eva, he's a president so its really beneficial to her.

  • Gorgeous music, actors and movie. Love it!

  • It's my idea or the tone of this song it's higher than the real???? I've heard the soundtrack from the CD and it's a few lower than this....

Anyways, thanks for uploading it.... :D

I love this song (and the saxo too)

  • My favorite song from Evita. It is SO sexy and alluring! Really great.

  • is that cockney english at the end!?!^^ I love EVITA!! The musical, not the person

  • @goldkehlchen1993 sorry I'm wrong...sorry sorry sorry....

  • beautiful..!

  • egijstra I agree the song and the saxophone rift is sexy,my comment is aimed at her not the music. It's the best stage show I've ever seen.XxAnimeAmyxX She never loved Peron she loved the power that came with being with him.

  • There's nothing like good music to hide the facts...

  • what do you mean love, love ,love? She was a whore who slept her way to the top, love has nothing to do with this story.

  • @archie1000 indeed, there's no question she was a whore. But that doesn't mean the song isn't sexy.

  • @archie1000 Evita loved Peron.

  • Love, love., love....¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Everything's perfect, the text, the acting, all....¡¡¡¡ and that sax......of my god, im in love, and what a great love between them....a greatest love in history around the world.....lets not talk about actors and singers, lets talk about something that was real, real....¡¡¡¡¡ and how wonderful should be meet duarte and evita, i should work for them and their cause....¡¡¡¡

  • @robertoarmendariz *Ahem* I believe you mean Evita and Peron...

  • @robertoarmendariz That isn't love. Eva and Juan used each other. Herself she wanted to get far away from poverty and he was just using her for her celebrity and her smarts. She was a smart woman and knew how to speak to the lower classes. Which gave him upper leverage against his presidential competition. Come on at the time Eva met Juan he already had a sixteen year old mistress.

They would be good for each other not as lovers but as "business" partners. Listen to the lyrics.

  • @MermaidBlueFins Actually, in a peaceful defense, they did love each other. Yes, Peron had a fourteen-year-old mistress, but he did geniunely love Eva. He wouldn't have married her if he didn't. Also, he tried everything to save her from dying, but it was too late. Personally, he may have loved Evita more than any other woman after that until his death. Once again, this is just a peaceful defense and I'm not trying to be a smart alleck.

  • @VanitasxAura There is also the fact that having been widowed earlier in his life, he didn't want to go through it again... There is little doubt from a historical perspective that he did indeed love her; he didn't need her to take power, he could have just waited until he was freed from jail (there would have continued to be rolling strikes without Evita whipping up the crowd)

  • @LeobonThalan I knew that he lost his first wife to uterine cancer, which is a sister to cervical cancer. Although, Eva never did anything to get him out of prison. She just stayed at home because Peron told her to. I agree with the rolling strikes part. Eventually, the government would have had to free him...and they did after about a week.

  • @MermaidBlueFins Some nasty-minded woman....

  • i luuuuuuuuuuuuv this song . i will love if she record a solo version

  • madonna is too ditsy for this role

  • i'm watching this on dv right now.... sadly the dvd must be scratched as it keeps skipping around but somehow it's skipped to the beggining of this song and seems to have gotten through it just fine :D having a nice sing along <3

  • this is a very sexy song!

  • id so love to have a little secret video abut how this night really was, how they met each other

  • Sexy Sax Orgasmic

  • @egijlstra Agreed.

  • @egijlstra agreeeeeee!!!

  • @egijlstra Then you should get out more

  • @egijlstra your comment made me laugh so hard in a great way!

  • @egijlstra along with Madonna saying "yes, oh yes", totally boner-inducing.

  • this is one of the classiest songs Madonna ever performed. the tune is bossa-nova style isn't it?

  • her voice is just so fantastic <3

funny, Madonna has had such a massive music career but this film is by far the best i've seen/heard from her and it's what i'll remember her for :)

  • this song makes me orgasm

  • 0:01 - Billie Piper, pre-famous.

  • @patyo1994 HOLY CRAP. I read on wikipedia that she was in this and I've been pouring over every scene, but I totally missed her. Thanks.

  • im in love with this song.

  • @kevinmarshall161616 So am I. When it first premiered, this was the song I fell in love with. Ever since I have ruined cassettes, records and c.d's. It really is a beautiful song about two lonely people who are wanting the same thing but something more. The perfect partner to get to the top.

  • im in love with this song.

  • de toutes les chansons celui-ci est mon préféré

  • I jus love this song....Really I do! It's so simple yet elegant. Reconstructed just right!

  • I LOVE YOU EVITA.

    MUSIC PERFECT.

  • Oh man this is good

  • Anyone notice that the girl getting Peron's autograph is Billie Piper, of Doctor Who fame?

  • That one who wrote Evita song must have an Oscar !!! I fucking love The Lyrics :) They're too emotional !

  • @fatizoo1000 They actually won an OSCAR with "YOU MUST LOVE ME" Andrew Lloyd Weber ist the responsible for these great exits!

Check also THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA...

  • @GongasC Tell me , Don't you think that they should've received an oscar nomination for that song !!!!!

What's about The Phantom Of the Opera ? Are U talking about the movie where gérard Butler casts ?? Does that movie have Great songs too ??

  • @fatizoo1000 Well in this movie all the songs are great...

Concerning The Phantom... YES! Andrew Lloyd Weber is such a great composer! Try to see the movie and then tell me... :D It's BRUTAL

And I have already seen it live in London! GREAT GREAT GREAT!

  • @fatizoo1000 Andrew Lloyd Webber, the greatest composer alive today. Also see (just a few) Sunset Boulevard, Tell Me on a Sunday, Aspects of Love and most of all, his masterpiece, The Phantom of the Opera. Listen to the Original London Cast of Phantom, not the movie.

  • @1AdrianR Webber's a good composer, no doubt about that, but I'd take Sondheim or Guettel over him any day.

  • @VRNProductions I do enjoy Sondheim, especially A Little Night Music. In my opinion, I think all three are probably the best alive. The scores of Sweeny Todd and Phantom are both verw harmonically and melodically complex and prove the greatness of them both.

  • @1AdrianR True, but I think Sondheim is far more adept at weaving the various themes and melodies of his scores together than Webber. Listen to Merrily We Roll Along or Sunday in the Park With George and see all of the subtly repeated melodies and motifs- far more intricate than Webber's scores, which, although I like them, are more "repeat a melody 'til it gets in your head".

  • @VRNProductions Yes, Sondheim is has a wonderful gift in counterpoint. I do think Webber does, I mean in the Requiem counterpoint is used but without the leitmotifs. In Phantom, however, he does do what Sondheim does in 'Prima Donna'. With Andrew Loyd Webber, the songs really in a way become the themes for certain emotions which is why it may seem sometimes repetitive. I you're opinion however and I think each write differently and are the best at what they each do.

  • @1AdrianR No, I'm not talking about vocal counterpoint, I'm talking about the scores themselves. If you ever get a chance, check out the book "Sondheim on Music". It's a series of interviews concerning his scores starting from Passion and going back to Pacific Overtures, and it's there you can really see all the intracacies and subtleties to his scores- especially with Sunday in the Park With George. That score itself repeats several themes and leitmotifs, and while...

  • @1AdrianR ...things like the repeated arpeggios and the "Color and Light" melody are pretty obvious, there's a lot of little details added here and there that make the score so rich- which is saying something for such a seemingly simplistic and sparse score.

Webber, I think, is much more of a "film score" type of person- he composes basic themes and songs and then repeats them to suit the scenes as he sees fit. Nothing wrong with that, mind you, but I personally prefer Sondheim's methods there.

  • @1AdrianR I do agree, though, both of them are immensely talented composers.

  • @VRNProductions Yes, they are. I understand what you mean about Sondheim and it was good to have a civilised, intellectual and musical conversation with you. Thank you.

  • This had to get an oscar nomination !!!!!!!!!

  • I wish whoever posted this, would have shown the part where Eva goes into the room and tell the mistress, hey wake up and get out. That part always makes me laugh.

  • how has thing song not been used to promote healthy snacks?

  • @lunaatnyu: I agree 100%!

  • Ich bin eine Frau. Liebe dieses Lied. Wer könnte widerstehen???

  • I really Madonna was born to play this role. She is absolutely brilliant.

  • " I would be surpringly good for you!! babe!! ESTOY IMPRESIONADA PERO SOLO SOY UNA ACTRIS, TALVES TU ERES MI RECOMPENSA! PERO REALMENTE TIENES QUE SABER QUE TE CONVENGO, TIENES QUE COMPRENDER MI PUNTO DE VISTA, Y TU TAMBIEN ERES BUENO PARA MI!! No estoy hablando de noche fugaz, sino de una noche llena de pasion!! love you...

  • likeeeeeeeeee............ok

  • i would be good for you toooooo

  • I must say Madonna was one of the best evita´s i ever saw. She did it so natural

  • @fraaijen This is because Madonna researched and studied Eva's life and movements to portray her flawlessly. Personally, I prefer her to everyone else who's played Eva on Broadway. Esther Goris portrayed her in a movie from Argentina the same time Evita was released and also portrayed her flawlessly. It takes heart to portray Eva, and these two women put their hearts into it.

  • The best music in film!

  • I would be surprisingly good for you.

If only you let me to ...

  • She's not terrible in this, but she's a little too waif-like for my tastes.

  • 2:27 I love how he rolls his eyes...

    Great song by the way

  • Hell, if he propositioned me with that voice I'd be on my own too!
