@jonvenusti Well as it happens, Im a steadicam owner of the last 5-6 years, ive been part of the professional film and video world for as long as ive been old enough, I have done numerous training courses for Steadicam, Garret Brown, the guy that invented steadicam knows me by name, I have flown just about every rig out there, including the MKV AR on a handsfree transporter (segway) I have used every combination of arm and sled out there, and I do know what im talking about.
@jonvenusti The Glidecam is a pretty tacky badly made and badly designed cheap imitation of a real steadicam rig. They may work, but they wont work for long. The arms are bendy, the sleds are held together with pop rivets, theres laser cutting slag and burrs all over the bottom stage components, they are rough and ready. They work for a time, and if its all you can afford then its a great way of getting used to the steadicam setup, but they are not professional and they are not *good* equipment.
@jonvenusti Oh and also I am the sole designer and owner of a company that produces brackets and accessories for steadicam rigs, and I also design and produce wireless electronic remote focus devices, most of the units I make end up being used with steadicam equipment.
