This must be at the time of the Columbia recordings, the quartet is what will be a classic with that Charles Rouse clear-cut sound and the perfect sturdy rhythm section on those medium tempos, note the canon rendering of the theme by Thelonious. Holy master of rhythm he was. You can imagine these men very serious, aware of their value and proud to be in his band, and he, probably, a little more free financially. What I'm saying is well known, some good book being already written about
