How many fingers do you use for picking and which ones?

I don't know why but i've gotten into a bad habbit of only using my thumb and 1st finger. Maybe it's because I very often use my 1st finger instead of a pick.. cause i always manage to forget were i've put my pick ^.^

And now I've started to notice that i can't keep up the speed on some songs when i only use my thumb and 1st finger for picking the strings ;(
