@RezViper It was a huge earthquake for us, a earthquake of this size does not usually happen in this part of the country. This is the first earthquake that 98% of us have felt so while it may not be a big deal to you it was a big deal for us.

@RezViper Buildings here aren't build to withstand earthquakes, if the earthquake would have lasted ten or fifteen more seconds we would have been in big trouble because it would have caused many injuries and maybe even deaths and a lot of damage. We are lucky it didn't. Earthquakes on the east coast are very different from earthquakes on the west coast because of our soil, that is why it was felt all the way into Canada. While it may not have been a big deal to you, it was to us.

I have lived here for 21 years (my whole life) and never have I seen so many new styles of clouds. @suqmadik to you and all the other west coast folks saying "we get earthquakes all the time, nbd" you all don't understand that your homes and other buildings are reinforced for earthquakes, because you expect them. just because this one didn't do anything besides shake a pencil off a desk somewhere in d.c. doesn't mean that it couldn't/never will be worse. your buildings are built with earthquakes in mind. my shitty apartment in brooklyn, sadly, is not. so yeah we're pussies with good reason.

Huh. Anniversary of christchurchs 7.1 earthquake today. RIP to the 181 victims of the 6.3 earthquake on 22feb 2011 in Christchurch. Good luck with EQC claims and shovelling liquefaction from the June 13th quakes. Over 7000 aftershocks all in a year. My thoughts are with you Japan I understand some of what you are going thru.

@RobMonty248 There's no hiding it now. I have seen over the past week the most unusual clouds I have ever seen in my life here in Northern Virginia. I have lived here for 21 years (my whole life) and never have I seen so many new styles of clouds. I truly have no idea if its just luck (they are very beautiful) but its odd that it lines up with these two events. Only God knows, and I hope people see this as a warning.
