  • Thought I'd just watch a little bit ... but here I'm an hour later ... still soking it all in ... and feeling being very well lectured on. Thank you Scott

  • Great speaking demonstration. His book, which I just finished reading ("Confessions of a Public Speaker") is awesome.

Sidebar comment: Rubbing the nose indicates insecurity, he does it a few times. He gets a pass, as this video was early in his career :)

  • Google company has more innovations.

  • very interesting video...

  • LOL Internet Exploder. Microsoft knows absolutely nothing about innovation. Modern MBAs have a great approach to entrepreneurism and innovation.

  • my lecturer brought me here!!!

  • this guy is great

  • thumbs up if you were sent here by "Confessions of a Public Speaker"

  • He is a smartass and he knows it! Probably gets a look of chicks too that way!

  • what a total pile of steaming shit stacked high..

  • Never in the course of human events has one man said so little so quickly.

  • ♥♥

  • Magellan was killed by the native chief of Lapu-lapu City in Mactan Island, Philippines when he tried to evangelize the natives. Cook was not killed in the Philippines. The speaker is very good and subject is very informative.

  • the guy needs to learn how to nutshell and condense

almost an hour for perhaps 5 minutes of actual content

  • @saeble im sure they paid him to talk for more than 5 minutes, and who would want to fly over their to talk for 5 minutes and leave? i bet as much speaking as he has done he can condense fine

  • Well done, Scott - great stories and flow. Of to Amazon to order the book!

  • lol but he makes some good points so why complain

  • Well what point do you think is most significant....to me he talks like somebody whos brain is not fully developed!

  • well he brought that quote from the 1948 3m chairman to my attention, which i promptly forwarded to my dad just now (also our CEO) as he has stifled my idea 3 times! maybe this will change his mind

otherwise I suppose you are right, not much substance, and i dont generally appreciate self promoters..

still even though i have read countless autobiographies and studied many scientists and inventions sometimes we need to be reminded that our romantic notions about innovation mask hard stuggles

  • Awesome lecture, I found this on Scott Berkun's homepage - I'm going to have to see him when he's in Boston next week.

  • Excellent... very inspiring - well worth my time watching! I Googled "how to write a book", and ended up here! ...not a coincidence, methinks.

  • not much of this speech is "innovative" or new information. Has nobody ever read, or learned, about the history of science or biographies of the great astronomers, physicists, scientists, philosophers, mathematcians! Many, if not most, discoveries, theories, innovations were discovered by "accident" in pursuit of another goal, by random chance of identification, or asking the right question at the time. However, many of these "innovaters" were learned men, often in many subjects.

  • @NouvelleOrdre

random chance does not exist, when its about success

Mozart did not play 3 hours on his piano, but 10 hours every day.

  • much to long

all this information could be easily squeezed into 20 minutes

  • are you guys smart?

    *no one answers*

that's why you're at carnegie mellon

    LMFAO

  • fantastic presentation

  • Microsoft has learned to innovate...

by ripping off Linux distros and OS X

  • i'm english is very poor i hope get more from the lecture

  • i have nothing to say,but it turly make me shock

  • What a truly inspiring presentation! thank you for the great words of wisdom, it's a very thought provoking message that you offer to people.

  • This was an excellent programme. I found it by accident but watched it the whole way through to the end. Some great ideas from the talk.

  • Scott Berkun is brillant. I was fortunate to work with him at Microsoft.

  • yeah.... i agree.. this is excellent!

  • Awesome Lecture!

    i like! :]
