I agree, Ruthie's is NOT the best version of this song. She has a very old voice, she has difficulty sustaining the notes, and she just stands there like a tree. Susan Boyle's -- not exactly the best version of this song -- is much better. That tells you how bad Ruthie's singing is.

Oh, yes, there are PLENTY of individual performances better than this. Don't even include Lupone's or (her friend) Lea Salonga's. Start with fellow Brit SUSAN BOYLE, who succeeded where Ruthie failed: connect with the Brit public using this song. And ironically while she has less training & experience, Boyle has a better voice & is MILLIONS of times more popular. Not just in the theatre world, not just in England, but the world over. Leaves Ruthie in the dust as a domestic starlet.
