The Mansfield 22 years earlier...and could we get any louder??? Legendary... watched st*oned as a monkey... crazy, fantastic, lunatic, truly great, screaming like no other - ever. The kid across the road when i was young, who is now a self-made working-class multimillionaire reckons The Angels are the best band ever. So there you go - a genuine working class hero captured forever. Thanks for the post and the memories...
Just for the record....Doc Neeson in his prime was a frenetic frontman & was forever leaping off stage climbing on top of speakers & quite regularly smashed himself up in the process....saw the Angels as support band for David Bowie in Sydney (showground early 80's) and can't remember a single thing of Bowie...but can never forget watching Doc climb up scaffolding on stage & hanging precariously as he sang 10-20 meters up like Tarzan on meth..so if he falls off stage @ 63..way 2 go Doc my hero !
sat nite 19th nov at the gov went off!! unfortunately doc wasnt fronting the line up, but the boys are still rocking out and dave gleeson is filling the spot very well. judging by the look on their faces, their having a fucking ball pumping out their aussie rock. long live the angels....
I saw Angel City in 81/82 Wolf and Rismiller's Country Club in Los Angeles and Doc Neeson jumped off the stage and onto a table singing to some random girl. this band was a hard act to follow.
G'DAY...I grew up with the ANGELS Down Under and they would ne the band that I have seen live the most in my lifetime...It was like $5 to get in every other night and saw them at least 18 times and to be at this reunion and capture this footage was just PURE GOLD...CHEERS...I do have other rare Angels stuff if you are interested....I AM JUST A SHADOW BOXER IS ALL...CHEERS...
I AGREE...I SURFED THE STAGE BACK IN THE 80'S AS WELL...THE ANGELS IS THE MOST CONCERT SHOWS I HAVE EVER SEEN LIVE IN CONCERT....OVER 14 TIMES I SAW THIS BAND FOR $5 ENTRY FEE THEN 2 DOLLAR DRINKS ALL NIGHT....I LOVE THE 80'S............
I was so distressed watching this. I had tears no pun intended coming from my eyes. I first saw The Angels as a 16 way back in 1979. At last count I saw them at least 50 times. I saw Doc in his hey day where he would jump around the stage like a mad man. So seeing him bearly being able to get off nthe stage, then seeing him fall, brought me to tears. I know this sound fucking stupid. But only if I could speak to him for 10 min I would advise him as to what all the synthetic drugs are doin
Doc Neeson won't jump on stage if he felt it wasn't safe to do theatrical act. Doc Neeson he looking at the steps to see if can do it and with some help he did. He likes to in-act with fans.
I've got footage uploaded where Doc falls at the Mansfield Tavern in 2008 during this same song.
Unbelievable.
In 2008, the aircon was broken and it was like a sauna. Poor old Doc kept pouring water on himself to keep cool. That subsequently caused him to slip on all the water that had accumulated across the stage.
Like here, he got up and soldiered on, much to his credit.
Not as young as he used to be... lol

I was there that night and saw Doc fall. It was so ridiculously hot in there as you know, because the air con wasn't working.
Poor old, Doc. It really wasn't his night.
I had a great time though. It's hard not to when you're seeing The Angels.

It just wouldn't be an Angels show without Doc falling off the stage or copping a bottle in the back of the head or falling on a hot dog.
At 7:30 Doc looks like he wants to start jumping around like he used to 20 years ago. Man, I wish he still could.

He must do it all the time. I remember back in the 80s he fell off the stage and landed on my hot dog that took me 2 hours to get!
