Fanning has alwalys been a total music snob. I hated his show on 2fm and he destroyed the beatbox when he got it. Never played a instrument in his fuckin life and he preaches about music. Fuck all the way off you thin little fuckwad
i was there that year, and the biggest rip off was the prices inside the gate.fair play to fanning once again he showed he was never in touch with the working class kids of the time...poor interview skills, pompous attitude & no taste in music....anyone ever see the interview with Slash!
Fanning shouldnt be on TV, He is a two faced limp interviewer. He slated Fleetwood Mac when interviewing Rory Gallagher, and I just saw him on TV gobsmacked when interviewing fleetwood Mac. If he had a problem with their music, why didnt he bring it up when speaking to them.
Yeah, I remember the night Freddie Mercury died, Fanning was on the radio within an hour talking about Queen and saying "they've never been one of my favourite bands and (with barely concealed delight) I don't see them continuing at all." I thought it was quite insensitive to put the boot in so soon after the man had died.
Why the fuck was rte so concerned with people selling t-shirts outside a gig in 1987 when the country was up shit creek without a paddle? i was at the queen gig, and i was at neil young in 94?, and i bought a bootleg neil t-shirt. Inside (inside the field that is) it was 14 quid, I got it for 3 outside, it was grand for a year and then i used it for a vest for 3 more. the bands rip everyone off with "merchandise".
Yeah, they should've confronted Charlie Haughey for squandering taxpayer's money on Charvet shirts for himself. Instead, they went for an easy target - working-class people selling t-shirts. 30,000 people left Ireland in 1986, my brother was one of them. We were at Slane together and six weeks later he was gone.
sure they were doing no harm.
