Actually the father won't necessarily kill them. He has no reason to. In fact, it's the mom whose more likely to eat the runts of the litter if she thinks they're too small to survive, and to gain back strength from giving birth. But as long as all the babies are healthy it's very unlikely that the mom or dad will eat them. Their first instinct is to protect them.

ok, let's face few facts.. guinnea pigs aren lige other rottens, the male will keep his youngsters from predators, so he WONT EAT HIS BABIES.... male dont need to be seperated from them for about 12 h, from babies birth, after 15 h female is ready for mating again.. and please guys , dont act like smart ones, couse you arent.. man, those are nice looking fellows, i like the male colour too :) he is unique :) babies are goona be great ;D take care on them, and stay cool :)
