  • She's so beautiful...o.O *in awe*

  • I liked the way she whipped her hand out to shake that soldier's hand. She made it seem so graceful, even tho it's a simple mundane thing we do everyday.

  • 1:57 .. dumb-asses ...didn't face the Geisha while she was thanking-... they are who should be grateful to her... well, at least the woman turned back and gave her hand

  • @kusonohito thats right! totally agree with you!

  • Ahh! Komomo. I have her book and she is one of my favourites!

  • She had a wig ("shimada" hairstyle), it wasn't her natural hair ;) all adult geishas wear wigs, only maiko - an aperiance for a geisha - wear their natural hair. They are going to the hairdresser once a week, sleeping with a hairstyle like this is very difficult so when they are adult they don't want to be exhausted any more and use wigs. The wigs are amazing and expensive... but I wish to have one

She's beautiful and talented and brave, she don't scared a stereotype about geisha girls in US :)

  • Anyone else wish that you had her hair???? Its so pretty!!!

  • @SelestynaArpa364 It's a wig :3 It's called a "Katsura", Only Maiko (trainee geisha) wear their real hair in a similar style. But when a woman becomes a Geisha, she wears a wig. ^^

  • most americans are unsympathetic and disrespectful towards other cultures. not all of us are like that (including me), but most are. the majority are as just as much of the stupid pigs as the rest of the world views us.

  • she is so pretty...

  • That's a Strong Woman. I Admire Her Strength.

  • educate america about her world , 1 terrible song at a time!

  • Described as female entertainers is quite incorrect. Geisha are the ancient Japanese cultural representatives, hostesses if you will, of a bygone era that stressed the graciousness of women, the very flower-hood of Japanese womanhood. Educated, articulate, refined, talented, sensitive, and perfect hosts. Wow.

It was no problem for her to accommodate the soldiers by shaking hands with them.

I admire the Geisha. Such dedication.

  • WTF!??

Why is this video under 'Comedy'

    Thats messed up.

  • OMG!!!! i cannot believe that solder actually shuck her hand!!!! you DONT DO THAT!!! you greet them traditionally with a bow......i thought everyone knew that!!!

  • @pinkfreak41 Welcome to a video from america sweet cheeks. -.-

  • women at 1:25 *slap*

  • she really know how to make money not only in japan but also in newyork

  • @pthanhkim she got it all going on she is great at performances

  • lol yp she is

  • Komomo-san is so lovely! I like her a lot. One of my favorite geiko!

  • From wich district is Komomo, Miyagawa-cho?

  • she is so beautiful :)

  • The narrator sounds like the narrator from So You Think You Can Dance.

  • Anyone else cringed a little on the inside when the geisha bowed and by that time all the American soldiers already had their backs turned? e_e

Wahh~ Geisha training is much harder than it looks, but they make it look so easy! *admire*

  • Did you see how that one soldier shook her hand instead of bowing.

  • @jesjenanddom yes and she accepted it anyway.. she probably knows it's hard to do something you're not accustomed to doing..I'm sure if the soldier thought about it they would have bowed instead... that's what makes geisha so cool..sometimes they can adapt to their surroundings.. she was in america and probably expected that she end up having to shake hands at time since we don't normally bow.. still she so cool.. wish I could have been there at time she was..

  • @Khaosispower that was sad huh.. they didnt realize they were being disrespectful. Its sad we dont know much about other cultures

  • HAH - yeah, Madonna, a brilliant but talentless whore ,,,,,NOT a geisha in any way.

  • I seen that book!

  • I want the book and she's amazing.

  • Is komomo as tachikata or jikata geisha?

  • She is primarily a Tachikata Geiko-san. But she has learned Shamisen and Uta.

  • yes japanese and mexico we have a lot of similar culture also some of the language are speak in the same way.

  • Why would you say this?

  • in mexico some of the older familys are descendant of japanese inmigrants and not only in mexico also in peru (Shout america)_ some words in spanihs are the same in japanese. my dad's family are inmigrants of kyoto japan and I just lost my grandmother she last wish was to take her back to kyoto japan. inmigrants japanese people they arrived at mexico and peru in the WWII time . my grandparents leave Heian-kyō in 1938.

  • This amazing. I am from Mexico and I knew there were some Japanese in Mexico, but I did not know the real history of Japan! Have you live in Mexico?
