  • i trap alot to

  • is this trap too big for something like a groundhog?

  • If you have only two years of experience with legholes, pls don't try to be an expert at trapping. And if you want to make a vid from these traps, pls cut open the leg of the dead animals and show the meat under a magnifying glass :)

  • @Shiftyhun If you have 0 years of experience with leghold traps, then please don't comment as you have no idea what you are talking about. It's called "conservation", if that is even a word in your country, and it must be done. I nor my dad who has trapped for 40 years of his life has ever experienced a " badly dammaged" animal. We have a 24 hour check law in my state to ensure that the animal doesn't suffer or chew out. Dispatch is the correct term for putting an animal down. Not "executing".

  • @IllinoisOutdoorsman Please read ALL my comment under this video, beacuse I have argued this stuff with an annother guy, so please, don't waste your time trying to convince me AGAIN, with the same thing.

  • cazadores de mierda, ahí os muráis todos

  • how can i catch a fox

  • got to love jump traps i have a old slightly rusty one and its still fast enough for the chipmunks

  • You are awesome, great video, thanks!

  • 2nd trap is cruel, fk shoot all those humans who does this to animals what they have done to you morons

  • @nh77154 I agree, the cage trap is absolutly ok, but the leghole is inhumane and illegal in every country where inteligent people lives!

  • @Shiftyhun no it isnt. watch my video "leg hold traps are NOT cruel." i put my hand in a #3 coyote leg hold and it didnt hurt at all. most animals ive trapped have no paw damagae at all. if you havent used them, dont complain about them.

  • @TheOutdoorsman07 I saw what these traps can do, if you really want to test them put your finger into it, not your hand. Most animals I saw in the old times, when poachers used legholes, were badly dammaged and then executed. Learn how to hunt and trap ethicaly!

  • @Shiftyhun i will make another video with my finger in it if you like. it happens all the time. and most videos you see with damaged animals will be by PETA or BornFreeUSA. you cant trust either one. leg hold traps are a main factor in trapping, if they were cruel, ALL places wouldve banned them, theyre not, and they havent. ill show you some footage from my trapline of the animals foot this winter. (by the way, in my video i did put my finger in it.

  • @TheOutdoorsman07 If you think a trap is enthic if it is not banned everywhere in the world, just about the half of it, you only tells one thing about ya (just my oppinion). These traps are illegal here as they are in most counties, but we can go on are wery well with box, cage, etc. traps, so I dont think they would be "the main factors of trapping". And I saw dammaged animals with my own eyes, ot on the youtube, so pls dont waste our time argueing is those traps are ethical or not.

  • @Shiftyhun i use a cage trap also, but its not to easy carrying 20 of them in the woods, or removing coyotes. you know how we kill animals in cage traps right?

  • @TheOutdoorsman07 Yes beacuse I use cage traps too but it is still more humane to to shoot them in the head with the .22, than if they are suffering 6-8 hrs before it. And they still have the chance to get relocated. If you doesen't want to carry 20 cages, then set them near a road or use humane killing type traps like conibears or "plate irons" (probably it's not the correct english name of them, but we calls them "plates" here).

  • @Shiftyhun we use conibears and leg holds.,and the occasional cage trap for muskrat. but if we ever use one for coyote we're just gonna throw the cage in the water.

  • @TheOutdoorsman07 Then it is your problem, and your license, you know that what it takes if they catches ya (I mean the police of course). I dunno how it is going there in the USA, but in Europa, it means 3 years in a 3x6 cage (prison). And it is also very expensive, to throw the cagetraps into the lake. :)

  • @Shiftyhun yeah our laws arent as strict as yours. our state encourages drowning to humanely kill animals.

  • @TheOutdoorsman07 If you think drowning is humane, then try watch the animal, I bet you will remember that for your whole life. I never said that, the gowerment can say what is ethycal and what is not, they can bring laws, but they are mostly stupid (all around the world, not just in the USA). So I don't belive them and neither should you! If you thik it is ethical to drown animals, beacuse the gowerment said so, then you shold go to a psychologist, and get an identity. :)

  • @Shiftyhun i have many times. i dont count on the government to tell the truth, but with coyotes this method works well. they immediately breathe in, and it only takes about 10-15 seconds.

  • @TheOutdoorsman07 Ok, you got me xD As there are no coyotes here, I can't even imagine what they does underwater, but I still think the bullet is more humane :)

  • @nh77154 they arent cruel. ive used them for 2 years, caught my hand in many, and never seen any paw damage.

  • thanks for this

  • something is wrong with part 2 his voice is kinda muffled

  • very informative

  • great video man keep them coming.

  • How far back do u put the trap from the hole for a fox

    Thanks

  • u guys kill tomuch animals!!!!!!!!!! i find that a good thing dont u just hate it when a vegeterian wants to make em selfs cry by watching this and leaving pointless comments well i do.

  • Would a duke 1 1/2 coil spring hold a coyote?

    thanks

  • Not for long, unless heavily modified (and it is an extremely small coyote). Duke #1 1/2's are designed for fox and coon; use a #1.75 - #3 for coyotes.

  • well done, thanks for your video!

  • have you ever used a trap trahanaman. That is about a # 2 size coil spring. I have caught my fingers in a # 2 and yes it hurt. anyway that is a soft catch trap.

  • @pacmanbohnert yea me too and a #1 and 110 muscrat

  • trahanman....it holds the animal by the foot for less than 12 hours usually and then trapper kills it. that kind of trap doesnt kill the animal. it would only kill about a mouse.

  • What bait do you use for racoons in the middle of the winter?

  • sorry for the delayed response, but peanut butter.

It is probably the easiest, most affordable, productive bait there is. The odor carries and most game will go for it.

  • thank you. that was the best demonstration video i have seen on youtube. great job. do you have any suggestions for bobcat traps. i have heard feathers about 3 feet above the trap.
