Watch JFK and the magnificent performance by KEVIN COSTNER. I defy anyone to try and do that better. If you can, let's see you then. Or put and certainly SHUT UP.
"It's not absolutely important what we do but it is important to treat what you do importantly", that's an amazing statement! Somebody who clearly focuses on effort and committment to life and work. Well done Kevin U_U
No No Costner is so wooden,he would never even be able to act cool to play Steve,i think maybe Bradd Pitt would be the only one to take off the great man..Costner No way!!!
Kevin, please button your shirt! You have nothing we wish to see on you. Take off that light weight leather jacket ! Nothing can make you as cool as McQueen!
i always thought costner resembled mcqueen a bit. two totally different guys of course. i also think costner is pretty underrated as an actor, particularly his early stuff.
I find it totally weird that Costner dons a leather jacket just like Stevie and even the haircut seems to be reminiscent of Stevie (and looks totally ridiculous on Costner).
Is it just me?
Mr Costner, please do NOT try to rip of Stevie!! He had more charisma and guts in his little finger than you will have in your whole life....
You would think with all of his money, Kevin Costner could have bought some better hair. What is that?? Looks like some kind of a shammy. A wool type mat, almost like a squirrels nest, or something a squirrel would use for a nest. A bird or anything with a nest could use that hair. Looks like the perfect spot for a chicken to lay some eggs. You just can't handle and maintain that on a windy day, could you imagine? Imagine Kevin Costner's hair near a camp fire? It looks like kindling. Perfect!
OH MAN! This is so wierd seeing Kevin Costner talk about McQueen. I used to hope that Costner would do a 'Bullitt' Sequel in which he plays McQueen's younger brother, out to avenge those who took his older brothers life. That would be a kick-ass movie! They could reunite the surviving cast. We should write Kevin with the idea.
@JuanMacready, I think people would like it far better as Bullitt II, as it would throw back to the original, instead of merely replacing it. Interestingly, Steve didn't even want to do the movie intially, but was coaxed into it by his wife Neille. Upon completing the movie, McQueen was glad to have done it, but agreed no one person really took the lead as far as the direction of the movie went. "Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen".
@JuanMacready I agree, he had a natural, undefinable screen appeal, but was he really an actor? And this from someone who likes to watch his movies. I just can't figure it out. I just watched the San Pebbles, just an awful movie like so many of the era. In Harms Way is another. They are both great Sunday afternoon movies, when you like to drift in and out of sleep.
Yeah I know, The Sand Pebbles was so overlong and boring. In Harm's Way was a bad attempt to emulate the success of From Here to Eternity. McQueen might have been a popular star but he certainly wasn't much of an actor.
@scottmanduzy Papillon was just an overlong, badly made piece of crap with far too many irrelevant scenes, and McQueen was way too old for the character.
@JuanMacready I whole heartedly disagree! His performance was nuanced, controlled and effective. A man of Papillon's stature needed to be self contained in order to persevere in the conditions of the prisons in which he was kept. Even the real Henri Charierre was pleased with Steve's portrayal.
@JuanMacready Steve was 42 when filming started and there is something called makeup and hair dye that aged his look. If you did some research you would discover that Charierre was a consultant on location of the film.
@Wavingclouds McQueen was too old to play the naive 20-year-old Cincinnati Kid and he was badly miscast in The Thomas Crown Affair. The remake was far better.
I guess Costner hasn't seen AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE. If McQueen can handle Henrik Ibsen's classic play and all that dialog, he can surely handle JFK and anything Costner has done. What a dope!
@mcd428 i dont think Costner was implying that Steve Mcqueen couldnt handle the JFK dialog,he was pointing out that Mcqueen didnt like to do much talking in his movies,in fact the only film he demanded more of the script is Towering Inferno due to the fact he was always battling his old adversary Paul newman,,a lot of the time he would cut his own dialog down but not screen time his thinking was you could have more impact with just a certain look! thats why he was the king of cool!!!
@goldengreen73 the Bodyguard was originaly a vehicle for McQueen to star in opposite Diana Ross back in the day. Was never made until Costner got hold of it.

They should remake Bullitt with Brad Pitt, because the original is just a slow, dated and boring film.
JuanMacready 1 year ago
@JuanMacready You shit talking little nerd
SpursYido74 1 year ago
The car chase was the only good thing about that dated, crap movie. McQueen worked as a male prostitute from 1950 to 1952.

What about Papillon (1973)?
What about The Cincinnati Kid (1965)?
What about The Cincinnati Kid (1965)?
What about The Thomas Crown Affair (1968)?
Kevin and Brad do not go near trying to do what he did.
