There are gingko trees around the historical sites near the center of Philadelphia. The leaves are easy to recognize, even to a lay person like me. But I did not notice any fruit. Perhaps it wasn't the season. Thanks for the photos you post. Now I know what it looks like. Ginkgo happens to be one of very few herbals that went through clinical (pharmaceutical) trials and got confirmed of medicinal effect (helping memory) by so called "modern" standard.

This song is an old favorite of mine. Thank you. Ginkgo is, to my knowledge, native to China. I have a special feeling about it. The old Chinese legend says ginkgo is very helpful to longevity, and this tree species happens to have been on earth very long.
