Sure. Well with the way the car handles, you'll be temped to push its limits. All I can add is that you should be careful driving on off ramps too fast if you've got the stock goodyear runflats. I recently drifted off the road taking an off ramp too fast. Serves me right for going too fast. Thankfully, no serious damage done.

This looks like a return to the early '70s BMW 2002 tii series. They were light, small, quite powerful especially the turbo version and a real inroad for BMW. I like it!

I have been in BMWs since I was born 42 years ago. Currently I own a 1990 325ic and she is perfect! So understand when I say that the 1 series appears to be the resurrection of the chassis used during the late 80s to early 90s. The use of technical evolution and modern lines is icing on the cake. I have other BMWs in my arsenal but the petiteness of my 325ic gives a true oneness between the driver, machine and the road. I have modified my 3 to an output of 500hp so no 1 series for me. Kudos BMW!

Sounds like a kid, but anyways. Yes, Audi is great. Amazing interior quality, actually its currently unmatched by any other manufacture. Its your opinion that its ugly, but it doesn't seem like that when my local dealer's orders are filled for the 135's, M3, M5, and 550i Sport. Audi's design is amazing interior and out, but its their lack of power and sportiness that makes them just good but not great. Its Quattro System is very basic, Lancer and Subaru's AWD Systems are far better.

I test drove this car in the netherlands and since i am military i can get the 135i fully loaded with every option i like for 39,000 us dollars. This car is really fast but make sure you get the 6 speed manual or else it isnt the same. I feel in love with this car after i drove it.

I'll agree with you on American, then German as far as reliability. We currently own 2 German cars, and though they don't break down, all the silly little quirks that require warranty service is annoying. Our 2 previous vehicles were GM, and though they had some issues, they weren't as numerous. 1 year of VW ownership and service has thus been the equivalent of 3 years of GM ownership and service on average.
I agree with bosefox,i got my 2007 5 series for 47k and it had same problems, but at least BMW has less problems then the benz. 29 grand and up is to much for a sub compact coup. the secound you drive it of the lot its value drops 5 grand instantly so you end up paying thousands for just a logo. if it was 22,000 than I would buy it. BUt I think over 22 you have to be rich or stupid.
Well I am all for big American V8's, but as a student of engineering I must also appreciate the brilliance of a precision engineered machine, such as this one. I test drove this car in the netherlands and since i am military i can get the 135i fully loaded with every option i like for 39,000 us dollars. This car is really fast but make sure you get the 6 speed manual or else it isnt the same. I feel in love with this car after i drove it.

MSRP on the BMW 128i is 28,600. Its not that expensive and I don't see that many on the road. The 4 dour 3 series sure, but BMW coupes are not that common and I live in rich Miami where every cool kid has a 40K plus car.

Not true American Cars are more reliable than German cars. See J.D. Powers and Consumer Report surveys. Japanese cars are still the most reliable overall.

Ok, here's the thing. "BMW, it's in a class of its own." He isn't speaking about performance, so being in a class of it's own is irrelevant. German cars ARE trumped as far as reliability. You can argue this all you want. I'm not hating on either side. I'm just tired of people with their noses up BMWs and MBs tailpipie as if they can do no wrong. Order of dependability: Japanese, American, then German. Do some research, know the facts.

I'll agree with you on American, then German as far as reliability. We currently own 2 German cars, and though they don't break down, all the silly little quirks that require warranty service is annoying. Our 2 previous vehicles were GM, and though they had some issues, they weren't as numerous. 1 year of VW ownership and service has thus been the equivalent of 3 years of GM ownership and service on average.

I agree with bosefox,i got my 2007 5 series for 47k and it had same problems, but at least BMW has less problems then the benz. 29 grand and up is to much for a sub compact coup. the secound you drive it of the lot its value drops 5 grand instantly so you end up paying thousands for just a logo. if it was 22,000 than I would buy it. BUt I think over 22 you have to be rich or stupid.

Well I am all for big American V8's, but as a student of engineering I must also appreciate the brilliance of a precision engineered machine, such as this one. Every detail executed to perefection in the manufacturing process, every aspect considered in the design process, the inhearant beauty and then engineering superiority in an I6. Yes American V8's are kickass but to own one of these simply means that you like a machine with more precision and a higher quality of engineering and build.
