It depends on thelriginal state of the glass, if the glass starts empty and you are filling it up its half full, if it starts full and you are in the process of emptying it then it is half empty.

my spill on this, you cant really assese the glass as it has to magnitude. so you can't say the glass to be half empty becuase for it to be empty ther would be nothing in there thats like mathimaticlly impossible thats like saying full is 1 and empty is 0. half empty 0 / 2half full 1/2 thats just my opion thoh. so if you say its 1/2 full then your not only optimistic your also not a dumbass
