Sure it was dangerous, but it was exciting, and I can see how she'd miss it a little.

this is one of my fave scenes in the movie the background always lifted me up and I always felt serene with be on the fill like that. Now almost 14 years later I realize she shows an exceptional tranquility and sereneness while all the while expressing her disdain for the monotonous life in such a simple village and the desire of a bigger world and greater dreams. -.-;; Went all metaphoric and eloquent there.

@restoredbyGod I used to be friends with someone at church who was just like Gaston. He didn't look like him, but his arrogance was just like Gaston. No sooner did I distance myself from him, his girlfriend broke up with him because she was tired of being treated like a trophy and less like a woman. Last I herd my "ex-friend" disappeared from my church and his ex-girlfriend is traveling all over the states as a Coast Guard.

I much prefer this old look of disney's characters, they look much more 'realistic', after Atlantis there chracters all looked roughly similar, cartoonish. I hope The Princess and the Frog bings back the old style of character design in all the disney classics!!!!

Yes, it is very similar to the opening sequence of Sound of Music, even down to her dress. I think it was intentional. The movie had many homages to Hollywood musicals and Broadway plays.
