Awesome video as usual. I'd love to train at Bondi Beach one day.
Do most of the guys who train on the bars by the beach also lift weights at the gym? I prefer to train only using my own body weight as resistance, but I don't know if I can ever become super strong without the help of lifting heavier weights. I'd be really interested in hearing about your and other Bondi Beachers' training methods.
Thanks a lot for the info. Nice to hear that it is possible to keep up such strength levels without much use of heavy weights. Also, if other Bondi Beach regulars see this message I'd be interested in hearing about your training methods.
We train on a 7 metre rope that hangs off a cliff on the North end of the beach. If you type in Bondi Rope Climb into youtube you should find some vids.
@tuomasd If you want to become truly strong, you have to work with weights heavier then your own body weight. Also, being able to lift your own body does not mean that you are very strong, just good at using your body. I suggest you mix bodyweight exercises with raw powerlifting.
@Tjockman I've gained a lot of knowledge on strength training since I posted 9 months ago and have altered my training according to it. My main fitness interests still lay in calistenics and bodyweight training, but I also use a good deal of extra weights (for example weighted pull-ups, push-ups, dips, etc.) to increase my strength rather than only my muscle endurance. I'm still eager to learn more, but I think these days I have better harmony between gaining both endurance and strength.
That dude in the background was creeping ME out.

Pretty nice
Try doing them with your legs crossed so you can't tempted to twist your body up for leverage.

@trikky1234 fuck you, he still did it
seanster265 10 months ago
@seanster265 my reply is valid, just because he did it doesn't mean he's doing it optimally, legs straight is correct.
It'd be like doing clapping pushups but jolting your back, doesn't count 100%

Could you guys upload some lower body exercises like calf raises, one legged squats, etc...
I know all these upper body stuff is great but I would like to see more variation.
Thanks ;)
