As a non-believer, my criteria for evidence is that it directly explains what is actually happening or happened. Phenomena that does not have an explanation really cannot be attributed to something without a concrete link that is measurable and apparent by a proven means to do so. That is what science does. There may be strange goings on, but there are too many willing to make an assumption that if it can't be explained, it is supernatural.
Glad you clarified this. I had always believed a skeptic was more hard nosed - it turns out I had them confused with non-believers. I have had several experiences that fall under paranormal/spiritual thus I am a beliver with an average dose of skepticism. For me, I need to have non-believers around me to help me look for possible explanations. A good vid- keep it up.
@NinjaCthulhu In lack of imagination you mean that it takes a certain level of imagination to believe in ghosts. In other words ghosts don't exist without imagination aka ghosts don't exist lol
@MindstormRecs No, the fallacy of the lack of imagination is this: "We all know ghosts don't exist, therefore they don't exist". Its not a logically sound argument to say that. Also, the fallacy of ignorance is saying: Science has not proven ghost exist, therefore they don't exist" or the opposite, "Science has not proven ghost don't exist, therefore they do exist."
I thought being a skeptic was negative... I feel so much better about my self! There are two specific times where I am convinced I a had contact with a spirit, but I still exhausted as many alternatives and none of them stuck.
Non-believers aren't debunkers. Debunkers absolutely believe -- they believe that material science explains everything. They are the same people, neurologically, as true believers. Both of these people need to believe in absolutes and to convince everyone else of them. I don't believe in anything. Real science embraces no belief system of any kind. It leaves these questions open. It doesn't require an absolute "yes" or "no." Debunkers are merely true believers in sheeps clothing.
Yet another awesome video, Mike - thanks! I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts on the two vids I just uploaded recently; I think you'd be able to offer me a lot of insight on them.... :)
@screamfreak79 Thanks, Mike. I'd appreciate that. There are some things in the vids (Perry Street) that alternately have me scratching my head, shrugging them off as dust or spider silk, or watching with my mouth hanging open and asking myself if I'm just seeing things...
nice vid mike.....im a believer and a skeptic.....dose that make sense, what i mean is what u said , i believe in the paranormal as to me theres to much evidence to simply write it off, BUT im also a skeptic because i will try and find a logical explenation before i think its parranormal....enjoy ur vids man.!!!!...rod.
@208stroker1 I think that makes you a skeptic Rod. Skeptics do believe; if not they would be called non believers. lol. I also believe, but I have to experience it myself or see bonafide proof. I consider myself a skeptic as well.

Cynics can be helpful, and I agree if their best answer is "its fake" that doesn't help, and it falls under the fallacy of the lack of imagination.

Most think I'm a non believer, certainly a skeptic (but then I've more then proven GH & GA are fake).
But I'd say I'm a 4th category. A Skeliever! A skeptic with a modest belief something may be out there but I need more proof.

I personally think both believers, non-believers and skeptics should do well to keep an open-mind.
