Good to see Vermont is not willing to sit idle by for the Federal government to bring its citizens a single-payer system. Much like gay marriage rights, perhaps Vermont could be the catalyst that prooves single-payer works and isn't a "socialist" system, making other states follow suit.

I too have to say that it was nice to see politics meet civility for a change. I watched a documentary called "Right America, Feeling Wronged". It was about the conservative side of the 2008 US election. Wow some of the attitudes in that movie were scary.

As a matter of fact, the system in Massachussetts is more like Obamacare, and not at all like Singlepayer. Everybody is required to buy health insurance, and there is some regulation for the insurance companies. No matter your opinion of the effects of health reform in Massachussetts, you must understand that this is nothing like what Single Payer activists support.
